October 2018 SnackSack review time!
If you haven’t heard, SnackSack is a subscription box that focuses on delivering natural, “junk-free” snacks to your door every month. Every box will contain a mixture of all natural, vegan, organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, and fair trade products. They also have an all-vegan box option, as well as one that’s entirely gluten-free.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $22/month for the Classic box, or $24/month for the Vegan and Gluten Free options. All boxes ship free within the US ($9.99 to Canada) & discounts are available for multi-month plans. — For a limited time, you can save 10% for LIFE (includes all future renewals) with coupon code “ROSE″!
Let’s see what’s in the October 2018 Vegan SnackSack!
Everything was shipped in their newly designed blue & white Snack Sack box.
A peek inside!
A tri-fold info sheet listed all of the items included in each of the 3 available boxes (Classic, Vegan, and Gluten-Free) and gave brief descriptions of each product.
Vegan Rob’s Jackfruit Puffs
I’m always happy to see anything from Vegan Rob’s, because I’ve yet to find a product made by them that I didn’t like. These plant-based puffs are made with non-GMO ingredients including organic whole grain sorghum flour, organic sunflower oil, jackfruit powder, sea salt, and turmeric. Not only are they vegan, but also gluten-free, kosher, and trans fat free.
Mozaics Organic Popped Veggie & Potato Chips
Unlike other “veggie snacks” that are made with vegetable powder, these chips are made with real organic veggies that you can see in every chip. In fact, the first ingredient is peas! They’re also not baked or fried, but instead are “popped” and lightly misted with organic extra virgin olive oil for a delicious crunch with light seasoning.
Simply Smart Cranberry Pumpkin Seed Bar
A filling snack bar packed with healthy seeds including pumpkin, chia, and flax. Each serving (bar) has 190 calories, 10 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber, and just 7 grams of sugar. I’ve had one of these bars not too long ago and it was really good! 🙂
That’s It Apple + Cherry Bar
This bar is made with just two ingredients: Apples and cherries. — That’s it! (Hence the name.) Can’t get simpler than that. Well, aside from actual fresh fruit anyway.
Love Corn Sea Salt Corn Snack
Crunchy, roasted corn kernels seasoned with a touch of sea salt. They’re non-GMO, gluten-free, sugar free, and (obviously) vegan-friendly.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts
I first discovered these shelled hemp seeds in a subscription box a few years back. They’re great for sprinkling on cereal, yogurt, and salads for a healthy dose of plant-based protein. I also like to toss a bit in my smoothies for added nutrition. Each 3 tbsp serving has 10 grams of both protein and omega 3 & 6!
Torie & Howard Lemon & Raspberry Chewie Fruities
I was so excited when I saw this released as a spoiler for October’s vegan box. I LOVE these chewy little candies! They’re basically like Starburst, but without all the artificial flavors & colors. Not only are they all natural and organic, but they’re also vegan-friendly, non-GMO, and gluten-free.
Pipcorn Truffle Mini Popcorn
As it states on the package, Pipcorn was featured on Shark Tank and it was one of the few episodes that I actually remember seeing. The pop–pipcorn is made in small batches using kernels much smaller than the ones used for traditional popcorn. It’s gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO, and has just 81 calories per bag.
Sensible Foods Roasted Edamame
A 100% vegan & gluten-free snack made with non-GMO roasted edamame. It has just 80 calories and an impressive 5 grams of fiber per serving.
Wholesome Cinnamon Organic Bears
I really want to like these cinnamon flavored gummy bears, but I just can’t get into ’em. They have a strange texture that’s somehow more “gritty” than gummy. I mean, I do appreciate that they’re made with organic/non-GMO ingredients and are free of high fructose corn syrup & synthetic flavors/colors though. So there’s that. 😉
The Good Bean Roasted Chickpeas with Sea Salt
A crunchy snack made with roasted chickpeas and a dash of sea salt. One serving has just 90 calories and an impressive 4 grams of both protein & fiber.
Surf Sweets Organic Spooky Shapes
I have no idea how these are made by the same company as the cinnamon bears, because these gummies are delicious. They have the perfect gummy candy texture you expect from such treats, but without the yucky gelatin or synthetic flavors & colors. SO good!
October’s SnackSack box was loaded with savory snacks, satisfying bars, and tasty treats. My favorites this time were Vegan Rob’s snack puffs, Love Corn snacks, Torie & Howard fruit chews, Simply Smart bar, and Surf Sweets gummies. — Remember, if you’d like to try out SnackSack for yourself, you can save 10% for LIFE with coupon code “ROSE″!
