Subscription details
Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $10/month.
When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.
Ipsy also offers a nice rewards program that gives you points for reviewing your products and referring friends to join. Points can be redeemed for “bonus items” in your next bag. Awesome!
Ipsy sends a lot of different variations each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers got totally different products than you did. Hopefully your beauty quiz answers match you with products that most meet your needs… But honestly, even if I only get a couple items that “fit” me, I still consider it a good value since many of them are deluxe samples or full sized. You almost always get your money’s worth (and then-some)!

I love getting an Ipsy glam bag in the mail every month! I’m a huge make up and skincare junkie! I look forward to getting my package and trying out new products.

Sept 2016 bag- Ugly little bag. I can’t review the products because, despite it being the end of the month, I have yet to receive them. According to the “peek” my bag has hardly any makeup in it- just a crappy mascara sample & a small highlighter stick, instead it looks to be filled with something someone took home from their hotel room. The entire point of signing up was to explore makeup.
The fact that they take your money on the first, but may not even ship out until the 4TH week of the month, is just absurd. But the real kicker is the lack of customer care. There is no phone number, all responses to email are automated & do nothing to resolve your issue, the tweets & Fb comments go largely ignored or get the same robotic response- email us… Refunds are not an option, but apparently they’ll replace your bag, IF you ever get a response from them.
I had no choice but to cancel, without ever even getting my ugly little bag full of what could be compared to freebie samples, within my first month. The WORST experience I have ever had as a consumer.

September 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Review
The value of my bag this month was crazy high, but since I wasn’t overly wowed by the products, I still rated it a 3 for value. I’m sure not everyone would agree, but different strokes for different folks, right? 😉

October 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Review
I liked this month’s bag better than last month’s, though I still wasn’t thrilled with it. I don’t use lipstick or false eyelashes, so those were duds. However, I love the hand cream and shadow, and those alone are worth more than the $10 I paid for the whole bag.

November 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Review
So happy to have finally gotten a polish in my glam bag. I would have preferred a solid color, but I’ll take silver glitter over something lame like beige any day. The liner seems pretty nice too and sells for double what I paid for the entire bag. Score!

December 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Review
As always, a great value for $10/month. I could definitely do without another mascara for the next 5 years, but what can ya do…

January 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag Review
Ugly bag, decent products. I’m happy to finally get a darker shadow (from a brand I already like) and I can always use makeup brushes. The other 3 items are kind of just bonuses, since the first two basically pay for the whole bag (and thensome). As always, a great value!

February 2015 Ipsy Review
Insane value this month! I’ll probably use at least 3 or 4 out of the 5 products, but even if I only use the blush & face oil, it’s still well worth the cost of the monthly subscription.

March 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag Review
I’m SO sick of getting lip products from Ipsy. I keep hoping to get nail polish, but I think I’ve only gotten one bottle since I’ve subscribed. Boo. Sure, the value of everything is great (which is why I haven’t canceled yet), but still… No more lip stuff!

April 2015 Ipsy Review
Despite only liking half of the items in this month’s bag, I’m really happy with it. The things I do like I REALLY like, so it kinda makes the other stuff feel like extras. With Ipsy, it’s hard NOT to get your money’s worth — even if you only like one or two of them items. Plus, the bags themselves are always handy (and sometimes super cute!).

May 2015 Ipsy Review
While I won’t be using 3 out of the 5 products, I’m still not too bummed about my bag. The eye liner alone more than pays for the entire thing and I’ll definitely use that. The vegan brush is nice too!

June 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag Review
For the first time in many months, I got a bag with 4 out of 5 products that I’ll 100% be using. Heck yes! I wish the polish was full-sized, but other than that, I’m totally happy with this month’s picks.

July 2015 Ipsy Review
I just realized I never took a solo shot of the bag itself this month. Oops! You can still check it out in the leading pic. Overall, a nice selection of products for July. Would have been a LOT nice if I would have got that damn Essie polish, but what can ya do…

August 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag Review
LOVE the polish! Kinda “meh” about everything else though. That said, the polish alone is worth more than the monthly cost of the bag, so I’m happy.

September 2015 Ipsy Review
While the value wasn’t as high as past bags, I’ll probably use more than half of the items, so I’m cool with it. Plus, the total was still almost triple the cost of the monthly subscription. Can’t beat that!

November 2015 Ipsy Review
A pretty decent bag this month. I didn’t love everything, but as long as I’m happy with 2 or more of the products, I consider it a win. For $10/month I know I’ll always get my money’s worth, even if I don’t use everything. 😉

January 2016 Ipsy Review
Definitely a high value bag this month! Not crazy about all the paraben-laden products, but not everyone is that picky.

Again, mehhhhh. Just not a good month for me.

March 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag Review
Despite the value being impressive, I just can’t rate this month’s Ipsy bag more than 3 stars. It’s supposed to be a personalized subscription based on the answers you give in your beauty profile, but I’m finding more and more that this just isn’t the case. 🙁
