Sullivan Street Tea & Spice Company’s “Tea Tour” is a subscription box that sends you a selection of premium loose leaf teas every month.
All of the teas come directly from their brick and mortar shop located in New York’s Greenwich Village, where their staff selects only the finest teas to feature in the box. There are 3 different options to choose from: Tea Purist (an assortment of non-flavored teas), Flavor in the Mix (non-flavored teas as well as seasonal fruit, spice & floral blends), and The Herbalist (caffeine-free herbal blends). Each box will include three different teas, with enough to make 30-35 cups.
Subscriptions are $14/month, or less with multi-month commitments. Shipping is free.
Let’s see what’s in the February 2016 “The Herbalist” Tea Tour!
The box!
A peek inside. Three red packages of tea sat in the box, while a “tour guide”/info sheet was taped to the inside lid.
The guide/info card included details for each of the teas in this month’s box including its place of origin, ingredients, and brewing instructions.
A second card gave additional storing and brewing instructions for various types of teas — not just the ones included in this box.
Roman Provence (South Africa) – An organic tea made with a blend of fruity and floral ingredients including rosehips, currant, elderberry, lavender, and rooibos. Definitely a tea with a LOT of flavor.
Turmeric Medley (India) – A sweet and spicy blend featuring organic turmeric, lemongrass, peppercorns, lemon peel ginger, and licorice root. This makes for an ideal after-dinner tea to be enjoyed with or without milk.
Spice Delight (India, Worldwide) – Another 100% organic blend with a chai-inspired flavor without the caffeine. It features licorice root, orange peel, cinnamon, cardamom seeds, and cloves. A great tea to cozy up with during the cold winter months. 🙂
The Sullivan Street Tea & Spice Company Tea Tour is a fun way to sample different teas at an affordable cost. I like that they give you different options to make sure you’ll enjoy the blends you receive. I’m personally not a fan of black/unflavored tea, so the Herbalist tour was perfect. 🙂
