My Sweet Carterie is a fun postcard subscription service based out of France. Every month, they design and create 3 beautifully illustrated cards and mail them out to subscribers to then send to whomever they wish.
Each month’s set of cards is based on a theme, which isn’t revealed until you receive them. My Sweet Carterie designs everything in house, so you’ll always be guaranteed to get a totally original piece of art!
I was recently sent two of My Sweet Carterie’s latest sets of cards for review. Let’s check ’em out!
The first set I received is a whimsical collection of “special occasion” cards. I believe this is March’s set.
“Hello Dear” – The perfect little card to use to send a note to a friend just to say “hi”. At first glance, I thought the octopus was drunk… Then I realized the bottle above her isn’t full of “bubbly” after all. Kinda bummed about that. 😉
“Joyeux Anniversaire!” – Yep, totally thought this was an anniversary card at first. (Though I managed to break my chin open in Paris and get fancy French stitches, I don’t know a word of the actual language.) Thankfully, the back of the card provided the true translation: “Happy Birthday!”. The cupcake and party hat probably should have tipped me off though… Oops.
“Merci” – Okay, I lied. I DO know this one! “Thank you”! Yeah, and every fifth grader probably knows it too. Whatever. Cute, straight-forward card!
The second set of cards is themed around love! I think this was the February set.
“La vie en rose” – The English translation for this one is “life in pink”, or “looking through rose-colored glasses”. A great card for Valentine’s Day.
“Love is in the air” – This one’s my favorite of the “love” set. No, not just because it’s in English and I don’t have to Google the translation (though that helps!). It’s just a really sweet illustration. 🙂
“Mon joli coeur” – “My sweetheart”. I love the “French-ness” of the couple drawn here — the striped shirts, the little mustache… (Can they still be considered stereotypes if they were drawn by the French?) Either way, I dig it.
I love the idea of sitting down to pen someone a personal handwritten note instead of sending the all too common “Happy Birthday/Anniversary/Valentine’s Day” text message. These fun cards make it easy to step back a couple decades and kick it old school with snail mail. That is, if you’re willing to part with ’em. 😉
My Sweet Carterie is 5,99 € within metropolitan France and 6,99 € ($8-ish?) for the rest of the world. Shipping is included and Paypal is accepted. 🙂
Disclosure: I received these cards for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own.
