Taste Guru time!
Taste Guru provides 6 to 9 totally gluten-free goodies in each of their monthly boxes. Items can include snacks, baking mixes, granola, condiments, and more. They also like to include one or two non-food items as well as a chef-inspired recipe (gluten-free, of course!).
Subscriptions are $19/month plus shipping ($24 total), or less with multi-month commitments. They also offer surprise bonus items for the 6- and 12-month plans. Everyone who uses my link at the end of this post will receive a FREE tote bag with any subscription!
Let’s see what’s in April’s Taste Guru box!
The big purple Taste Guru box. It got a little beat up this month, but everything inside was totally intact.
The info card listed all of the products, along with photos and short descriptions of each one.
Modern Table Meal Kit in Mediterranean Green Lentil Rotini – This meal kit is HUGE. It comes with rotini pasta (made with green lentils), dried veggies, sauce, and seasoning. Just 15 minutes is all it takes to make a healthy meal for 4. Each serving contains an impressive 20 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. The kit itself is labeled as vegetarian (the sauce and seasoning packets both contain cheese), though I can easily veganize it.
The GFB Gluten Free Bar in Dark Chocolate Coconut – Mmm! They had me at chocolate and coconut. This bar is vegan, soy-free, GMO-free, and of course, gluten-free. It’s made with dates, organic dark chocolate, coconut, and other good stuff.
Namaste Foods Gluten Free Pizza Mix – This gluten-free pizza crust mix has rave reviews on Amazon. It’s also around $15 on there, so I’d hope it would be good for that price. The mix is made in a dedicated facility that’s free of gluten, wheat, soy, dairy and other common allergens. It’s also free of sugar and yeast. One package has enough to make two 14″ pizza crusts or a whole lotta breadsticks. Yum!
Tree Hugger Bubblegum – I’ve had these gumballs before and they’re pretty tasty. They’re made with all natural flavors and colors, contain no corn syrup, and are vegan, nut-free, & gluten-free.
Matt’s Munchies Mango Fruit Snack – I love these! They’re basically the all natural version of a Fruit Roll-Up. The ingredients are as follows: Organic mango puree concentrate. That’s it! — In yo’ face, Fruit Roll-Ups!
Bio Coffee – This is said to be the healthiest coffee in the world. It’s 100% organic alkaline wheatgrass coffee with 3-5 servings of greens in one cup. It’s also caffeine-free and an excellent source of fiber.
Zouq Curry Crunch Snack – Described as an “exotic healthy snack”, this is a sweet and sour trail mix that includes chickpeas, rice flakes, peanuts, lentils, green peas, and more.
While April’s Taste Guru box had less total items than recent months, they made up for it by including a few high-value ones. The pizza crust alone sells for $15, the gum is around $4, and I’m sure the meal kit isn’t cheap. Once again, I’m impressed with the variety of items included… Snacks, baking mix, a meal kit, gumballs… Something for everyone!
