October has been a really good month for boxes so far. First, I got the awesome Vegan Presence package full of my favorite autumn goodies, and then I get this Taste Trunk box in which ALL of the products happen to be vegan. Woohoo!
You probably already know the deal, but if not, Taste Trunk is a monthly food/snack subscription that offers 4 different themed boxes (“trunks”) to choose from: “Sweet Trunk”, “Health Trunk”, “Gourmet Trunk”, and “BBQ Trunk”. If you’re not sure which one to try, there’s an option on their website to switch trunks whenever you want. You can change it every month if that’s the way you roll. Personally, I always stick with the Health one, since I assume I’ll have a better chance at getting vegan-friendly items in the box. (I totally scored this month!)
Okay, let’s dig in!
I loved how festive the packaging was! Yay, Halloween!
Uncle Eddie’s Vegan Oatmeal Raisin Cookies – I was SO excited to see Uncle-freakin’-Eddie’s cookies in my box. I don’t know of anywhere that sells them locally, so I always have my mom buy me a bag or two from an online vegan store every Christmas. I usually get the peanut butter chocolate chip ones and they are a-maaazing. Perfectly moist and full of flavor. I often end up eating the entire bag in a matter of days (like, two). SO good. (Amazon Price: Roughly $7.76)
Bountiful Pantry Farmhouse Chowder – Now that the weather is getting cooler, I plan on making lots of soups & veggie chilies. I normally make ’em from scratch, but this “chowder in a bag” will make getting into soup season a whole lot easier. It’s full of good stuff like lentils, brown rice, carrots, split peas, and even pumpkin. You just add 4 cups of water and veggie broth and let it do its thing. Yum! (Retail Price: $8.50)
Taza Chocolate Covered Almonds – Oooh! I am SO looking forward to trying these. I’ve seen Taza chocolate in other boxes and knew it was supposed to be some quality stuff. I was so afraid to look at the ingredient list, figuring they wouldn’t be vegan, but to my surprise (and relief) they were! These are made in small batches, using stone ground organic chocolate. Mmmm. (Amazon Price: $14.99)
Grains of Wellness Black Rice Chips – These are gluten-free/vegan crackers made with 100% whole grain black rice. When I first saw the box, I thought they were chocolate cookies, so I gotta say, I was pretty bummed when I realized they were rice crackers. 😉 Though, this IS the Health Trunk, so I spose it makes sense to have healthy stuff thrown in too. (Amazon Price: Roughly $2.49)
Various Teas by Uncle Lee’s Tea and Imperial Organic – A selection of 10 single-serving teas. All are organic and I received a nice variety of flavors. (Price Guess-timation: $2.00)
This was definitely one of my favorite boxes from Taste Trunk. Everything was vegan and totally something I’d buy myself (well, maybe not the rice crackers). The total value of all of the items came to roughly $35.74, which is more than the monthly cost of the box.
Taste Trunk is $29/month, but you can save 25% off your first box when you use the promo code “2LITTLEROSEBUDS25” at checkout. 🙂
Disclosure: I paid for this box with my own funds. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Amazon prices subject to change. Post contains affiliate links.
