Tayst is a subscription service that sends you a customizable assortment of eco-friendly single-serve coffee pods every month.
When you join, you’ll get to choose how many cups you’d like per month (from 20 to 1,000!), along with your preferred blends — there are currently 6 available, which you can mix n’ match. The coffee offered by Tayst is sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified farmers who support biodiversity, decent living and working conditions for workers, gender equality, and access to education for children in farm communities. The pods themselves are 100% compostable and feature a mesh filter to allow for even water filtration, producing “fuller flavors and smoother mouth feel”. Tayst also offers special gift subscriptions which include pods, compostable to-go cups, coasters, and more.

Let’s see what’s in my February 2017 Tayst box!
The box!
A peek inside! — I was sent a package of 10 pods, along with a few additional items for review.
Tayst Medium & Magnificent 1o-Pod Package
Medium & Magnificent is a medium brew described as having hints of fruity mocha, a subtle body, and plenty of flavor. As mentioned earlier, the pods themselves are 100% compostable. — The lid is made from bio materials and water-based compostable ink, the ring from natural bean skins, and the mesh from renewable bio resins.
Tayst Bold & Brazen
Bold & Brazen is an obviously bold blend which offers a rich deep flavor with a smokey cocoa finish. Mmm!
Tayst Bold & Brilliant and Medium & Heroic
Bold & Brilliant is a medium bodied complex blend with a sweet caramel undertone, while Medium & Heroic offers a sweet and slightly acidic experience made from South American beans.
100% Compostable Cups
These insulated paper coffee cups have a pocket of air between the layers that remove the need for a cup sleeve. They’re also 100% compostable and feature a comfort lid made from cornstarch. Cool!
I really enjoyed my sampling of eco-friendly coffee pods from Tayst! The coffee itself was great and I love that they make a point to be so socially and environmentally responsible by using Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee and compostable materials to go along with it. 🙂 — Remember, you can order a free trial to sample their blends before committing to a monthly plan!
