Now let’s see what’s in the Try the World / Condé Nast Amour Box!
Everything was tucked inside a light pink (peach?) colored box with the Try the World and Condé Nast logos on the lid.
A peek inside!
A fold-out Culture Guide featured photos and descriptions of each item in the box, along with full recipes for your appetizers, entree, and dessert.
Destination #1: France for Appetizers
Croquet Crackers with Black Olive Tapenade and Apple Jelly
To kick off your romantic “around the world” dinner, you’ll be enjoying Biscuiterie de Provence Croquets — all natural crackers inspired by the regional flavors of southern France — topped with a thin layer of Délices du Luberon Black Olive Tapenade for a taste of the Mediterranean. In addition, you can pair a soft cheese (such as brie) with Les Folies Fromages Apple Jelly with Espelette Chili Pepper — a flavorful jam still cooked the traditional way in copper cauldrons.
Destination #2: Italy for the Entree
Casarecce with Black Truffle Cream and Edible Rose Petals
The entree sounds (and looks!) fancy, but is surprisingly easy to make. First, cook up a pot of Gragnano in Corsa Casarecce pasta — a durum wheat semolina pasta made in the coastal town of Gragnano. Once al dente, drain and place into a large serving bowl. Next, stir in 1/2 cup of Stefania Calugi Black Truffle Sauce — produced with truffles sourced from the cold northern forests of Tuscany. Finally, add a pinch of salt & pepper and garnish with a sprinkle of Raffaelli Food Edible Rose Petals.
Destination #3: Thailand for Dessert
Mango Sticky Rice with Dried Tamarind
Dessert involves preparing a traditional Thai treat of Siammit Glutinous Rice with Coconut Milk (aka Sticky Rice) using the kit above. You basically just heat, mix, and serve. — Easy! Serve with fresh mango slices and Wang Derm Dried Tamarind for a truly authentic taste of Thailand.
Try the World and Conde Nast Traveler did a great job putting together the ultimate destination-inspired “dinner in a box” for date night! I love how they included different cuisines for the appetizers, entree, and dessert. I also appreciated the fact that all of the dishes looked impressive, yet were fairly simple to make. 🙂 — If you’d like to try the box for yourself, you can save 10% when you use coupon code “ROSE10” at checkout!

We did this for Valentine’s Day, and it was fantastic. I wish the apple jelly was available in their shop to purchase on its own, it’s really amazing.
