Let’s see what’s in the Holiday 2016 Michelin Edition Try the World box!
Unlike their regular teal colored boxes, the Try the World holiday box was bright red with festive gold accents.
A peek inside!
A fold-out Culture Guide featured photos and descriptions of each item in the box, along with fun facts about different holiday traditions celebrated around the world.
Sprucewood Handmade Cookie Co. Canadian Maple Shortbread Cookies (Canada) – These classic shortbread cookies are made with the finest ingredients — many which are locally sourced from Sprucewood’s home base of Ontario, Canada. They consist of just five natural ingredients with absolutely no artificial preservatives or flavorings.
Giuliano Tartufi Truffle Sauce (Italy) – Imported from Italy, this truffle sauce is packed with minced mushrooms and is ideal for mixing into dips, spreading onto crostini, or even folding into omelettes.
En Luen Mini Pineapple Cakes (Taiwan) – A popular treat in Taiwan, pineapple cakes are moist and buttery with a sweet, tangy jam filling. This adorable box contains 3 mini cakes that are perfect for serving with tea or even as a simple breakfast treat.
Marlette Pain d’épices Baking Mix (France) – Ooh! I’m really excited to try out this traditional French spice cake. The mix itself is actually vegan-friendly and made with organic ingredients. It needs to be blended with milk and honey (which I can use vegan versions of) and baked in a mini loaf pan or muffin tin. I think the hardest part is going to be waiting until the next day to sample it, as instructed on the box. 😉
Darling Sweet Toffee (South Africa) – These honey & salt toffees were handcrafted in South Africa using pure butter from Darling — a town known for its exceptionally high quality butter. Other ingredients include condensed milk, honey, sugar, and salt.
Yoffi Date Spread (Israel) – Dates are seen as a symbol of good luck throughout the Mediterranean region. This sweet date spread is made with ripe fruit grown on a community farm in Israel and is ideal for tarts, cheese plates, or spread onto toast.
K’ekua Hot Chocolate Tablets (Mexico) – Mmm! I can’t wait to make some Mexican hot chocolate with these 100% natural tablets. They’re made with a (vegan-friendly!) blend of Mexican cacao, sugar, and cinnamon. To make hot chocolate, just melt 1/4 to 1/2 of a tablet in milk or water, froth, and serve. Easy! The tabs can also be used to make Mole or eaten alone as candy. 🙂
Fox Gourmet Foods Lemon Curd (United Kingdom) – Lemon curd is a traditional English fruit preserve enjoyed in scones, parfaits, and other desserts. It’s made with lemon, sugar, eggs, and other natural ingredients. Fox Gourmet prepares theirs the old fashioned way by cooking it over open pans.
Try the World never disappoints when it comes to their festive Holiday Boxes and this year was no exception. It was packed with sweet treats from around the globe and I was pleased to see a few vegan-friendly products included as well. 😉 — Remember, for a limited time new subscribers will get TWO FREE BOXES with the purchase of one! — When you sign up you’ll receive the Limited Edition Michelin Holiday Box as well as the Brazil and Portugal boxes.
