Whimseybox is a fun subscription box for those who like to get their craft on! Each month they send you a different DIY project, along with all of the supplies needed to complete it. They also include a pretty 5×7 art print to collect and/or get crafty with. Their motto is “Stop Pinning and Start Making!”.
I must admit, I’m not a very crafty person. Like, at all. When I was little I LOVED crafts, but now… not so much. However, now that I have 2 little girls of my own who’ll likely be all about “making things” in a few years, I figure I better start getting myself reacquainted with glue guns and glitter pens.
Unfortunately, this month’s project was a little more advanced than my current skill level (say, age 5-10 maybe?). π Hey, I told you I haven’t crafted in a while…
Okay, time to see what project came in this month’sΒ box of intimidation Whimseybox…
The project for August is a DIY Beaded Wrap Bracelet. For anyone with even the teeniest bit of craftiness in them, this is probably a pretty simple endeavor. For me, it’s, well… daunting. I got the box about 2 weeks ago and kept telling myself I would get to it “later”. Welp, with two busy 1-year olds, “later” may not come for a month or more. (If ever.) So I figured instead of putting my review off for an unforeseen amount of time, I’d just own up to the fact that this poor bracelet probably isn’t getting made anytime soon. I assure you, I’ll be hanging my head in shame for the remainder of this review.
As mentioned before, they send you everything you need to make your project. They even included a few cute extras, like stickers, pins, and pencils. The clipboard and binder clips are used to hold your cordΒ taut while you construct your bracelet. In the top right corner you can see the pretty art print. Below that is glue for the bracelet, as well as the beads and thread. Also shown is a needle & a ruler (that has already come in handy for non-bracelet related things). π Whimseybox also has a great online community and instructional videos on their site as well, if you ever need a little extra guidance/inspiration.
Here’s a close-up of the pencils, cos they’re pretty gnarly.
These are the clear beads and the green/yellow cords that should have been turned into a bracelet. If you squint really hard, you can almost see it take shape. π
Okay, that last photo was taken right from the instruction sheet/Whimseybox site. I just thought you might wanna see what it should look like when complete. You’re welcome. π
Aside from the fact that I wussed out and didn’t actually make my project, I did like the idea of making it (if that makes any sense?). I think I’d do better with something less needle-y and precise… Ya know, something I could goof up on and no one could tell.
Each box is only $15 per month and right now you can save $5 on your first box when you click here and use the code “WELCOME5“. Awesome!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot! — Β Whimseybox has oh-so-kindly offered to give a free month to one of my readers (hey, that’s YOU!).
As always, just click the image below and make nice with the Rafflecopter.
Good luck & happy crafting!
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Contest open to US residents, 18+. Prize fulfillment will be handled directly through Whimseybox. Post may contain referral/affiliate links.

Last food Item I made was made from scratch mufffins for breakfast this morning. Last craft item I made is a quilt I’m hand quilting right now. I often make crafts with my step daughter and I know whimsey box is something we could enjoy together. We enjoy making all sorts of stuff. I know I’ve seen this bracelet several times in stores and she’s commented before we should try to make it so this would be a great one for us. Vie seen several other whimsey boxes and have liked them all. Thanks for the chance to win.
