Matilda Jane Clothing is a mom-owned company that specializes in uniquely designed girl’s clothing and accessories. Their collections are fun, whimsical, and sized to fit everyone from babies to mommas.
Needless to say, when Matilda Jane contacted me to see if I’d be interested in reviewing one of their outfits, I totally jumped on it. Buying clothes for twins is NOT cheap! 😉
Twice a year, in the spring and fall, a new line is released. The outfit I received is from their Paint By Numbers collection, which can be found here.
Chloe was kind enough to be my model for this post, though she wasn’t exactly cooperative. Ah, one-year olds…
I loved the customized mesh bags they used for the clothing items. Such a nice touch!
Limelight Peasant Top – This is so cute! It’s a cream colored peasant top with teal and plum accents. Light green (peridot, to be exact) butterflies, hot air balloons, and various insects add an extra dose of whimsey to this free-spirited top.
Let’s pretend that Chloe is modeling the detail on the sleeves here, as opposed to just being weird.
Pointillism Big Ruffles Pants – Okay, I gotta be honest… I’m not a fan of ruffled pants. Shirts, sure. Pants, not so much. However, these do look cute with the peasant top above. They just work. Would I ever purchase them on my own? Not a chance. Would I end up getting a similar pair from my mom at some point anyway? Probably. 😉 (She loved these.)
Nancy in Chocolate Headband – This is a fun, versatile hair accessory. It’s dark brown with pink/blue/white flowers and features a big ol’ flower with leaf details in the middle. It’s a head band that you tie in the back, so it’ll fit various sized noggins. 😉
Try as I might, I just wasn’t able to get a good “full outfit” shot. The picture above is as close as I could get. Things that I should point out: 1. If it looks like the clothes are a little big, they are. I ordered 18 months so the girls can grow into them. (They’re in 12 months now.) 2. I know it looks like she’s channeling her inner “Karate Kid” with the headband… She kept trying to pull it off and I got sick of readjusting it. #momproblems
All in all, I was very satisfied with the clothing items I was sent. They’re definitely not something you’re going to find at Target, and I like that. Aside from Yo Gabba Gabba, I refuse to buy any “character” clothing, or anything involving princesses and the like. That said, I totally appreciate companies like Matilda Jane Clothing. Different is good!
Know what else is good? A giveaway!! Matilda Jane were kind enough to offer one of my lucky readers a $50 gift card to their shop!
Just click the image below and spend some time with Mr. Rafflecopter.
Good luck! 🙂
Disclosure: I received the items above for free in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any other way. All opinions are my own. Contest open to US residents only, 18+. Prize fulfillment to be handled directly through Matilda Jane Clothing.
