I love that Vegan Presence ships their packages at the start of each month. LOVE it!
If you’re new around here (welcome!), Vegan Presence is a monthly subscription box service that features — you guessed it — all vegan-friendly products. Items can range from food to beauty to household essentials. This is by-far one of my favorite subscription boxes! They’re always packaged oh-so-prettily too! 😀
Let’s see what vegan-y goodness they’ve included this month!
LVX Nail Lacquer in “Livid” – Yes! Black nail polish! I’ve gotten two other shades from this brand in other boxes and both times the colors were super light/pastel-y/boring for my taste. So when I saw the familiar black LVX box in my package, I nervously opened it, preparing to find another “beige/peach” hybrid… When I pulled out the all-black bottle, I was so psyched! — Mamma’s goin’ goth! It didn’t take long for me to try it on and now I’m lovin’ it. I feel 16 again. Eh, my hands do anyway. So yeah, love this. Bonus: LVX is vegan (of course), free of toxins/harsh chemicals, and it’s produced right here in the US.
North Coast Organics Death By Lavender Deodorant – This is the cutest little travel sized deodorant and it smells amaaaazing! It’s 100% natural & certified organic. The ingredients include coconut oil, corn starch, and various essential oils. It seriously smells good enough to eat… which is totally weird to say about a deodorant, but f’real. Yum.
Ellovi Lip Butter – Ellovi, we meet again. Last month, I received their body butter in my VP package. I’ve yet to use it (I have a TON of lotion thanks to sub boxes), but it seems pretty nice. This little guy is the lip balm equivalent of the body butter. It’s made with only six ingredients — coconut oil, sunflower wax, hemp oil, shea butter, and macadamia nut butter.
Mama Chia Squeeze in Blackberry Bliss – Okay, this I was NOT a fan of. I wanted to like it… I really did. It’s full of chia seeds — a big source of omega-3s. It’s also vegan, gluten-free, organic, non-GMO, a good source of fiber… BUT… I just couldn’t get past the weird, ‘fish egg-like’ consistency. I’ve never actually eaten fish eggs, but this is totally how I imagine them to taste feel like. It almost felt like I was eating something that wasn’t meant to be eaten as-is. That said, if I ever get this stuff again, I’ll totally be throwing it in a smoothie… and blending the shit out of it.
Sage Machado “Sage” Sample Vial of Perfume – I don’t normally wear perfume, but I wouldn’t mind using this. It’s all natural and made with essential oils. It contains no icky chemicals, it’s vegan/cruelty-free, and non-GMO. I’m awful at detecting what actual scents are present in perfumes, so I’ll just say “it smells good” and leave it at that. 😉
February will mark Vegan Presence‘s one-year anniversary and they’re offering a little discount to celebrate! For a limited time, you can get a 3 month subscription for $5 off the regular price ($60) — now through February 2014. No code needed. Awesome! If you do sign up, make sure you tell them you were referred by 2littlerosebuds.com! 🙂

Hello Wendy Rose & thank you for your reviews. I would like to provide some additional information regarding the Mamma Chia product that may provide you and your readers with an additional outlook. I am not affiliated with/employed by Mamma Chia – just a customer who fell in love with her original product – original chia seed vitality drink. It comes in the following flavors: Blackberry Hibiscus, Cherry Lime, Cranberry Lemonade, Raspberry Passion, Pomegranate Mint, Coconut Mango, Kiwi Lime, Guava Mamma, and Grapefruit Ginger. I recommend starting out with the blackberry hibiscus flavor. The vitality drink has a liquid consistency, with little chia seeds suspended within. The drink is delicious; chia seeds have been associated with boosting energy, promoting good health, and helping with weight loss. These aren’t claims or promises, but they give me a bit more energy and taste yummy. Please keep in mind that the Mamma Chia beverage has a slightly different texture because of the chia seeds.
The Mamma Chia Squeeze has a much thicker texture, and combines fruits & vegetables (different flavors). Refrigerating the product helps (I’ve even tried slightly freezing it like an ice pop). It is a good product because if you or your children have an aversion to vegetables, you will not be able to detect them.
I recommend trying the vitality beverage first, and then trying the Mamma Chia squeeze for comparison.
One other note that I think shows how big the founder’s heart is, and her love/sense of community locally and globally. Personally, I prefer to support business owners who are passionate about their products and make the world a better place.
Mamma Chia’s CEO & Founder is Janie Hoffman, located in Carlsbad, CA. Every year I adopt a local children’s home in South Carolina, and this year “Mamma Chia” donated a variety of case flavors of her “Squeeze” product to add to the Christmas stockings. Give her vitality drink a try; you may have a more enjoyable experience, since it has a more liquid texture. Sorry for my “long winded” message, but I just wanted to make a recommendation that may help you/your readers have a better experience with the product. Let me know what you think, if you care to share. Best regards! 🙂
