Activate Your Faith is a new faith-based travel subscription box that lets you experience the world while creating change for others.
Each box will take you on a journey to a new country with 5-7 gifts that will require you to use all of your senses to experience them. Items will include a handmade gift, spice and recipe card, scent item (candle, soap, oil, etc.), a coloring Bible verse card with original artwork, and a tea/coffee reminiscent of that country. You’ll also receive a free music download of Christian music and a note of encouragement that ties it all together. Activate Your Faith donates 30% of their profits to charities that help those in need.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $29.95/month.
Let’s see what’s in the April 2017 Activate Your Faith box!
Everything was shipped in a light blue box with an Activate Your Faith sticker on top.
A peek inside!
April’s theme was “Israel” and a trifold info booklet included a list of the products inside, as well as detailed descriptions and retail values for each one. There was also a reminder to check your email for a free download of Big Daddy Weave’s The Lion and the Lamb ($1 value).
Wissotzky Tea Rosehip & Hibiscus Tea ($2.09)
Two bags of rosehip & hibiscus tea were included because “fruit infusions were first created in Israel and are the fruits the scouts brought to Moses to demonstrate the fertility of the promised land”. The tea is caffeine free and can be enjoyed both hot or iced. (For the record, I found a box of 20 bags for $6.99 on Amazon, so I’m not quite sure where they got the $2.09 value from. That said, note that some of the prices they’ve included here may be a bit off.)
Armed with Truth Beatitudes Temporary Scripture Tattoos ($10.95)
To help you remember the Beatitudes, the box included a set of temporary scripture tattoos that can be worn on your wrist or anywhere else they can be easily viewed. There are 10 tattoos in all, each of which last 3 to 5 days. — Enough time to memorize the scripture before you apply the next one.
Zuluf’s Hand-Crafted Olive Wood Cross ($10)
This small wooden cross was handmade by Christian families in Bethlehem. It’s made of solid olive wood and comes with a certificate of authenticity, as well as a velvet pouch to store it.
The Spice Way Za’atar Spice Blend ($3.50)
This popular Middle Eastern spice blend adds a unique savory flavor to baked goods, cheese spreads, salads and dips. It’s made with a blend of hyssop, sesame seeds, canola oil, sumac, olive oil, and lemon salt. While most za’atar today is made with oregano for cost effectiveness, this blend is made with hyssop grown in Israel.
Israel Recipe Card ($3.18 for the card and the info booklet)
To give you an idea of what to do with your za’atar, a recipe for Za’atar and Lemon Grilled Chicken was provided. I found it a little odd that they included a dollar value for the recipe and info booklet though. :/
Scripture Coloring Card ($7)
An original art print featuring Rev.19:7 was included for you to color and display in your home.
Lily of the Valley Sachet ($2.05)
To remind you that He is the Lily of the Valley, a scented sachet was provided to bring the smell of Spring into your home. The sachet contains real essential oils and is great for use in your car, locker, or dresser drawers.
Also included was information about Alpha House of Tampa, a non-profit social service agency offering homeless pregnant women and mothers with young children safe housing and the tools they need to become self-sufficient and responsible parents. An stamped envelope was also provided to encourage you to donate to their cause.
While some of the item values were a bit off, I still thought the April Activate Your Faith box was nicely curated. The items all stayed true to the theme and went together well. I didn’t love that they included the cost of printing in with the box value, but hopefully that’s something they’ll change in future shipments.
