Let’s see what’s in the April 2023 Amoda Tea box!
Everything was shipped in a small brown box with a white Amoda Tea logo in the center.
A peek inside!
A 2-sided info card included a full color tea-related photo on one side, with a message about this month’s tea selections on the other. The QR code printed at the bottom gives you access to additional info on the teas as well as recipes and tips.
All of the teas were individually packaged in resealable pouches with labels noting their tasting notes, caffeine content, brewing instructions, and full ingredient list.
Thesaurus Tea “Passiflora”
“Passiflora” is an herbal blend inspired by Princess Perfuma from She-Ra — whose magical powers are flower-based (she can grow & control plants!). I have a special fondness for “colorful” teas, which always pique my interest based on their looks alone. (So shallow!) This blend includes a fragrant mix of passionflower, rose, lavender, linden, beet pieces, cardamom, and hawthorn berries. It’s caffeine-free and turns a pretty pink hue when brewed.
Thesaurus Tea “Nerfherder”
This full-bodied black tea is blended with deep puerh and real coffee to help kick-start your day. It features a strong earthy/toasty flavor with nutty undertones. Additional ingredients include chicory, cocoa beans, almond pieces, jasmine, calendula, and sunflower petals. Oh, and yes, it was inspired by Star Wars. 😉
SerendipiTea “Really Goethe”
Another visually appealing blend, “Really Goethe” was inspired by the famous writer & scientist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. It features an herbal combination of organic Chinese green tea, jasmine petals, lemon myrtle, orange peel, and rose petals. The sweet & fruity blend was awarded Third Place in the North American Tea Championships Blended Green Tea category (2013).
SerendipiTea “Lili’uokalani”
April’s final offering was a black tea named after the first queen and last monarch of Hawaii before being deposed by a coup made by American sugar planters. (A little history lesson there!) The blend features a flavorful mix of Organic Chinese black tea, safflower petals, and natural tropical fruit flavors including mango, citrus, and guava with touches of peach & apple. — It can be enjoyed hot, but is especially delicious as an iced tea. 🙂
Biodegradable Tea Filters
A roll of disposable/100% biodegradable tea filters are also included in every box. I didn’t count them, but it looks to be plenty to use with the included teas. Additional filters can also be purchased as an “add-on”.
My April 2023 Amoda Tea shipment included a fun collection of pop culture and history-inspired blends. I’m most looking forward to sipping “Passiflora”, “Nerfherder”, and “Really Goethe”.
