Art & Soul Box is a new subscription box that delivers a new therapeutic, creative outlet to your door every month.
Each Art & Soul Box will contain a selection of art supplies, projects and plenty of inspiration to bring out the artist in anyone. A new journal/sketchbook will also be included in every box to record your thoughts and/or artwork.
The projects included require no special skill and are designed to simply let your creativity flow. Art is good for the soul, so the goal for this box is to focus on the act of creation, rather than the finished result.
Subscriptions are $35/month or less with multi-month commitments. If you join now, you can save 15% on your first box with coupon code “NEWBOX15”!
Let’s see what’s inside the August 2015 Art & Soul Box!
The box was shipped via priority mail. — Here’s a peek inside!
All of the materials were hand tied/packaged and labeled with little handwritten tags. It’s clear that a lot of thought & care was put into this box!
All of the information and inspiration for the included projects were contained in a little photo album.
The first page contained a welcome note from Josey, the founder of Art & Soul Box. She’s a strong believer in the power of art therapy and it’s ability to lift your spirits. This month’s box is focused on the creative possibilities of paint.
Another page in the book included a list of everything you’ll find in the box.
The book featured a half dozen more ideas, inspirations, and words of encouragement.
Tools – The “tools” included a mini easel, 2 artist’s paint brushes, a natural sponge for painting/stenciling, a washable paint palette, 2 writing pens, and assorted wooden sticks for paint sculpting.
Canvases – 5 mini canvases were included in a variety of sizes and materials. All of them are the perfect size to display on the mini easel.
Acrylic Paint – 5 one-ounce pots of artist’s water-based acrylic paint were included in black, white, blue, yellow, and red. I do wish the paints were a little larger, but no biggie.
Writing & Sketching Journal – A unique burlap-wrapped notebook/journal for recording your thoughts and/or sketches. It’s a nice size and has plenty of crisp, sturdy pages to unleash your creativity on.
Stock Paper Punch-Outs – I found this little envelope tucked inside the journal. It contained an assortment of paper cutouts to use in the paint exploration process. (Tips were included in the info book.)
Tote Bag – This little burlap tote provides the ultimate blank canvas for expressing your creativity. It could also serve as a handy place to keep all of your supplies.
I really love the concept and execution of Art & Soul Box. I like how it’s more than just a “craft box” and focuses more on the therapeutic/creative freedom side of art. This is definitely one of those boxes where the value is more in the curation and experience than the retail value of each individual item. That said, this is probably the most affordable form of therapy you can get. 😉
