Dottiebox is a cute subscription service that features “high quality handmade items, small businesses, and indie brands”. The goodies you receive can be anything from household items and candles, to jewelry and beauty products — it’s always a surprise.
Dottiebox has two size options: The “original” Dottiebox ($20/mo) and the Dottiebox Mini (2-3 items at $13/mo). Due to the handmade nature of the items, boxes are limited and can easily sell out.
I reviewed a Dottiebox Mini back in November and it was super cute, so I was excited when they offered to send me both August boxes — the mini and the regular. Woo!
Let’s see what was in ’em!
I’ll start with the Mini box, since that’s the one shown in the first photo up there. Here’s the info card that listed what I’d find inside.
Coconut Lime & Mint Emulsified Body Scrub by Moe’s Apothecary – Mmm! This smells amazing! I almost wish I could eat it. It’s a sugar scrub with a refreshing blend of coconut, lime and mint. Again, mmm! (Seriously, how good would this combo be as a sorbet?!) This scrub leaves your skin feeling smooth and hydrated without being greasy. Also, it’s really pretty! 😉 (Retail Price: $8.00)
Hair Ties by Naturally Kamdyn – Hair ties are all the rage lately. I can’t tell you how many I’ve gotten in subscription boxes in the last few months. They’re cute n’ all, but I have short hair so I have no use for ’em. Hopefully they’ll still be “cool” when my girls have long enough hair to rock these. (Retail Price: $4.99)
The August Mini box was nice, but I gotta say… The “Regular” box (below) was flippin’ AWESOME! Read on to see why! 🙂

Uncommon Scents Candle in “Sweet Georgia Peaches” – I’m a sucker for a good candle, and this is one seriously GOOD candle. Some peach scents smell a little “meh”, but this one is right on. So peachy! It’s made of 100% all natural soy wax, has a long burn time, and is crafted in Decatur, GA. LOVE this! (Retail Price: $12.00)
Gustus Vitae “Taste of Tuscany” Gourmet Spice Blend – This is an all natural spice blend featuring the flavors of Italy. I normally wouldn’t be too excited about spices, but we’ve been needing a good blend to mix with oil for bread dippin’, and this will be perfect! It also has a magnet on the bottom to stick it right to your fridge so it’s always handy. Neat! Now I wish we had some fresh bread… (Retail Price: $8.00)
Maya’s Berry Medley Jam – Yum! This is a mini jam with a mix of berries and non-GMO, vegan cane sugar. All of Maya’s jams are handmade in the Hudson Valley in NY using mostly berries picked right from their own orchard. (Retail Price: $3.95)
Music City Suds Soap Sample – This is a teeny sample of handcrafted all natural soap from Nashville. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tinier sample of soap before, but it’s fine as a little “bonus” item.
I am beyond happy with the “Regular” August Dottiebox! Everything in it is perfect for me and will definitely be put to use. I can’t stop sniffing the candle… SO good!
