Avid Dresser is a new monthly subscription service that sends you 2 on-trend dresses based on your specific style preferences.
Upon signing up, you’ll be asked to complete a “style quiz” to help Avid Dresser determine which dresses best suit your individual style. Questions include body type (size, weight, shape), your preferred colors/patterns, areas of your body that you like to draw (or avoid) attention to, and more. Unlike some subscriptions that are actually rental services, all of the dresses you receive are yours to keep. If a piece just doesn’t fit right and you need to exchange it for a different size, members are also allowed one return per package.

Let’s see what’s in my July 2017 Avid Dresser box!
Everything was shipped in a bright pink bubble mailer.
Inside, the dresses were wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with a round “thank you” sticker.
There they are!
Ethereal by Paper Crane Ruffle Dress w/Belt ($34.99)
The first piece was this very feminine beige/champagne colored ruffle dress. It reminds me of something you’d find at Forever 21, and while I’m almost 2 decades away from their target market, I’d totally buy this if I saw it displayed there. 😉 I absolutely love the high neckline with its dainty ruffle and tasseled tie closure. Since I’m not big on most patterned designs, I also appreciate the simple/classic pattern of tiny black dots. The dress is fully lined and the crepe paper like texture of the outer layer means I shouldn’t have to worry about wrinkles. Score!
Knit Floral Dress with Scoop Neck ($39.99)
The second dress was a longer, navy colored midi length floral dress with a deep scoop neck. I’m not used to long dresses, so I was hoping to push myself out of my comfort zone and fall in love with this. Sadly, it just wasn’t meant to be. 🙁 It was simply a matter of personal preference though. — The dress itself seemed nicely made and the fit was great… The main issue I had was that the waistline was a lot higher than I was used to and I felt that it just wasn’t flattering for my figure. Ah well, can’t win ’em all. 😉
Although one of the dresses was a miss, I was still impressed with my first Avid Dresser experience. The dress that I did like was one that I would have most definitely purchased on my own, so that was a total win. Also, I’m incredibly picky about what I wear, so the fact that they even got one pick right was impressive in my book. 🙂
