June 2016 Birchbox unboxing time!
If you’re new to Birchbox, it’s basically a monthly subscription box that sends you 4-5 grooming, beauty, and lifestyle samples for just $10/month. When you sign up you take a style quiz and they send you products that best fit your profile. Both well-known and up-and-coming brands are included, all in generously sized multi-use samples.
For a limited time, new subscribers can get a FREE Eyeko Eyeliner Deluxe Sample with coupon code EYEKOGIFT.
Okay, let the June 2016 Birchbox unboxing begin!
The box! — I love the design this month. So pretty!
A peek inside. June’s box featured “magical” products that give you a presto-chango payoff.
As always, the info card listed each item inside the box, as well as a brief description and retail prices for the full-sized versions.
Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel – I believe this was June’s only sample choice option. Subscribers got to choose from 3 available shades. This tinted brow gel contains tiny microfibers that stick to the hairs, making them instantly look fuller. I’m honestly a little nervous to try it out. I don’t have the best makeup skills and I’m afraid I’ll end up looking like Bert. 😉
Parlor by Jeff Chastain Moisturizing & Repairing Shampoo – A paraben/sulfate-free shampoo especially formulated for dry and/or damaged hair. It’s lightweight, moisturizing, and infused with plant-based ingredients including extracts of lemongrass, oat kernel, and sweet almond.
Evologie Intensive Blemish Serum – My skin has been a total jerk lately and I’m looking to change up my cleansing routine, so this came at the perfect time. The Intensive Blemish Serum claims to rapidly reduce blemishes, discoloration, and surface scars without drying out the skin (a major problem I’ve been having). The formula is free of gluten, parabens, fragrance, hydroquinone, benzoyl peroxide, petrolatum, retinol, and sulfates. Worth a try!
Laura Geller New York Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator – Gilded Honey – This highlighting powder begins as a cream and sets as a powder for flawless application. I don’t use highlighters/illuminators, so this will be going in the swap pile.
Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream – Meh. I also don’t use hair products (aside from shampoo & conditioner), so this is another swap item.
I’ll probably use about half of the products in my June Birchbox, but I’ll still go ahead and consider that a win (especially when compared to how I felt about last month’s box). 😉 — If you’d like to check out Birchbox for yourself, for a limited time new subscribers can get a FREE Eyeko Eyeliner Deluxe Sample with coupon code EYEKOGIFT.

Just curious, what do you think about Birchbox “updating” the points program so you no longer get points for each box you review?
