Okay, so I *thought* I had successfully canceled my bluum account already, but clearly I didn’t. When I received their “sorry to see you go” email, I assumed that meant it was a done deal. Um, nope. Turns out there was another link in there that I had to click to REALLY, officially cancel my subscription. Psssh.
Anywhooo, if you’re not aware, bluum is a monthly subscription box for babies & kiddos from birth through age 5. Each box contains five or more products that are responsibly sourced, eco-friendly and often organic. The contents are based on the age of your kiddo in months, so boxes tend to vary a LOT.
My girls are currently 32(?) months old, so the bluum box I received was geared towards a 33 month old child.
Let’s see what’s in my April bluum box!
I wasn’t expecting to see this guy on my porch again anytime soon.
I do like that they got rid of the ten pounds of paper squigglies and opted for a simple layer of tissue paper instead.
As always, there’s no printed info card… just a generic insert indicating the month. Once your box is delivered, they email you a list of its contents. You can also find it when you login to their site (again, after the box is delivered.)
Melissa & Doug Sea Creatures Peg Puzzle ($7.99) – My girls LOVE Melissa & Doug puzzles and we surprisingly don’t have this one yet. As soon as I unwrapped it, they both took turns putting it together and we practiced naming all of the sea creatures.
Goodbyn Bento ($12.09) – We’ve gotten a couple of these from other subscription boxes, but they’re handy so I don’t mind getting more. This one comes with 3 separate food compartments and has a built-in carrying strap. Like all Goodbyn products, it’s BPA-free, dishwasher-safe, and totally recyclable.
Urban Trend Build-a-Meal Monkey Set ($14.95) – This is a 4-piece plate set with removable components/compartments. The 4 different pieces can be used separately, or together to form the monkey face as shown in the photo. It’s BPA-free and dishwasher safe.
Jean Pierre Cosmetics Foaming Facial Cleanser ($6.99) – I guess they have an option now to let you opt out of getting “mom gifts”. If I would have known I had a box coming, I definitely would have done just that. I don’t mind getting an occasional “mom” product in a kid’s box, but not when they’re full size and 1 of just 4 items in the box. I don’t switch up my facial cleanser too often (ever), but my husband actually said he’d use this since his current face wash is running out. So, not a total loss. 😉
I’m not super disappointed that I got this last bluum box before my subscription was actually canceled, but I’m also not super sad that I won’t be getting more. The total value of the items this month (using Amazon prices) comes to about $42, which is definitely more than the monthly cost. That said, I’m a little bummed that they included two products that pretty much do the same thing (the food dividers). Plus, I wish I had a chance to opt out of the mom gift. Ah well.
If you’d like to give bluum a chance, you can save 65% off your first box just by clicking this link and using coupon code “GETBLUUM”.
Disclosure: I purchased this box on my own. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post contains affiliate links. Amazon prices subject to change at any time.

The same thing happened to me regarding cancelling my BLUUM box. Moms, BEWARE, this company makes it more difficult than it needs to be to cancel your subscription because, I believe, they are banking on the fact that moms are busy and don’t have time for the extra nonsense. I went back and fourth for 2 weeks with them, but to no avail, they would not even waive the $25 cancellation for me, after I explained that I thought the box was already cancelled.
