It’s November 2016 bluum unboxing time!
If you’re not aware, bluum (yes, with a lowercase b) is a monthly subscription box for babies & kiddos from birth through age 5. Each box contains four or more products that are responsibly sourced, eco-friendly and often organic. The contents are based on the age of your kiddo in months, so there are many variations in the boxes that are sent in each shipment. (I don’t think I’ve seen any two boxes that were exactly the same.)
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
bluum now gives you the option to choose the exact items that you’ll receive in your box! When you log into your account you’ll be given a chance to pick one item from each of the available categories for that month’s box (food, toys, books, etc). If you’d rather be surprised, you can forgo picking and have them choose the items as they did in the past. They also give you the choice of opting out of the “mom” items, which I love because I kinda hated getting things for myself in a kid’s box. 😉
Subscriptions are $34/month or less with multi-month commitments. For a limited time, you can save $10 on your first month with coupon code “MRVA286CCE“.
My girls are currently 50 months old (remember — they go by months), so the bluum box I received was geared towards a 51 month (4 year old) child.
Let’s see what’s in my November 2016 bluum box!
The big red bluum box!
A peek inside.
I feel like I selected my own items this month, but the first look was completely different than what I remember choosing. (It actually looked better!)
As always, there’s no actual printed info card… just a generic insert indicating the current month and age range of your child. Once your box is delivered, you’ll be able to log in to your account and view a list of its contents on their site.
Stephen Joseph Hooded Towel – Seahorse ($24.99) – I am absolutely thrilled with this adorable seahorse hooded towel! We have two other towels by this brand (a butterfly & a monkey) and my girls LOVE them. The little details — like the 3D fin on the back — are super cute and the towel is made of 100% cotton. Love it!
Schoolies Let’s Get Ready for School Wipe Clean Book ($10.64) – Another item I definitely would have chosen myself if I had the chance! This dry erase workbook is full of fun activities and writing lessons for preschool aged kiddos. My girls have been practicing writing letters in school, so this is perfect. 🙂
Silikids Silimap Folding Silicone Placemat ($14.95) – Unlike regular placemats that either roll up or lay flat in one large piece, this one easily folds up like a map. It’s made of hypoallergenic silicone and features a map of the US which can be colored on with washable markers. The mat is dishwasher safe and perfect for taking on the go.
Mudpuppy Princesses Play Scene ($10.99) – We recently received the zoo-themed play scene by this same brand in another box, so it was cool to get another theme. This set features a foldable sticker board scene with over 30 reusable vinyl stickers. The materials are phthalate free and printed with non-toxic, soy-based inks.
Happy Tot Fiber & Protein Bars (~$5) – These soft baked oat bars are made with organic ingredients including whole grains, fruits, and veggies. They’re also gluten-free and each serving contains 4 grams of fiber and 2 grams of protein.
I think this was one of my favorite bluum boxes to date! I absolutely love the seahorse hooded towel and wipe clean activity book. The rest of the items were useful too and the total retail value was over $65! Awesome! 😀
