Bonjour Jolie is a “time of the month” subscription that provides your monthly “necessities”, along with various treats, teas, pampering items, and even a special gift.
Boxes are just $16/month (plus shipping) and include up to 25 pads, tampons, or a mix of both. You’ll also receive feminine wipes and Advil, if you request it. Customization is important, so you can choose any combination of pads/tampons, in any brand. You can also notify them of any allergies that you may have so that they can personalize your treats and “extras” to your specific needs.
I’ve never tried a Bonjour Jolie box, so I was excited when I recently got the chance to review one. Let’s have a look inside, shall we?
All of their boxes have fun themes — August’s was “Travel the World With Us!” and featured products from around the globe.
First look. Lots of pretty colors and sparkly organza pouches. Definitely a very “girly” presentation!
The “Necessities” – U by Kotex Tampons (total bummer since I only use pads, but I didn’t get a choice since it’s a review box), Advil, and Summer’s Eve Cleansing Cloths.
Tocca Body Wash & Body Cream (New York) – Grapefruit and cucumber scented body wash and body cream from their “luxurious Cleopatra line”. I love the fresh, clean scent!
Sonoma Soap Company Hair Care Set (California) – A little travel shampoo and conditioner set from Sonoma Soap’s “First Crush” collection. These smell super fruity and are made with grape seed, red raspberry, and green apple extracts. Mmm.
I Love Mango & Papaya Exfoliating Massage Bar (England) – More yummy-smelling things! Yay! This is an exfoliating massage bar (it has round massaging “nubbies” on one side) made with extracts of mango and papaya. It’s pH balanced and paraben-free.
Tea! – There were 4 tea bags included, all from different areas of the world. Genmai-Cha Maeda-en brown rice green tea with matcha (Japan), Ahmad Tea mixed berries & hibiscus (England), Dil’s Royal Tea pure ceylong blueberry tea (Sri Lanka), and Galil rosehip herbal tea (Turkey).
Bauducco Strawberry Wafer Cookies (Brazil) – Crispy wafer cookies with a smooth strawberry filling. I used to LOVE wafer cookies when I was a kid. Yum.
Haribo Gummi Bears (Germany) – Ugh… I totally just noticed that I took a photo of the back of the package. Whoops! I think I just saw the bear and assumed it was the front. Anywhooo… These are the original, classic gummy bears! They’re gluten-free as well as lactose-free (sadly, not gelatin-free).
Chupa Chubs Lollipops (Spain) – Apparently Salvador Dali created the Chupa Chubs logo. How cool! I got strawberry and choco-vanilla pops.
Various Candies & Mints – Balis’ Best Tea Candy (Indonesia), Arcor Fruit Candy (Argentina), and Glitterati Elegant Mints (Italy). I’m eating one of the Arcor candies right now (pineapple flavor) and it’s pretty good.
The Gift: Gold Travel Charm Bracelet (Vietnam) – The gift this month is a gold-toned travel themed charm bracelet. I’m not a fan of gold jewelry, so I’ll probably give this to my girls for playing dress-up when they’re older. It definitely fits in with the theme though!
Overall, I thought the August Bonjour Jolie was a pretty fun box. I would have preferred pads (I seriously don’t even know of anyone to give these tampons to), but it’s no biggie since I’m not an actual subscriber. I really liked the great mix of personal/hygienic, pampering, and snack/treat items — Definitely a fun box to go through!
