Let’s see what’s in the August 2018 Cheryl’s Kids Cookie & Book Club box!
Everything was shipped in a plain brown box with the Cheryl’s logo printed on the sides (and top).
A peek inside!
I already knew what the contents would be, thanks to the full “schedule” on their site which lists what book/plush you’ll be getting for each month.
I had never heard of Walter the Farting Dog until I saw it listed as August’s featured book, but I instantly knew that it would be a hit with my kids. 😉 This silly book tells the story of Walter, an unfortunately flatulent pup who takes a cruise with his family. Shortly after boarding, Walter’s offensive odor gets him quarantined and eventually he’s sent out to a lifeboat to float alone beside the ship. Of course the story doesn’t end there and when the ship loses its power, it’s Walter’s farts that ultimately save the day.
It’s Walter in the flesh! Er, plush. Not only does he look exactly like he does in the book, but… HE REALLY FARTS! Yep, just squeeze his bloated belly and he cuts the cheese. There are two different distinct sounds and as you can imagine, my 6 year olds can’t stop squeezing him. 😉
All of the cookies were packed into a small box, with each of them in their own individual packaging for optimal freshness.
Cheryl’s offers a TON of different cut-out cookies with brightly colored buttercream frosting. We received 3 of their red and green frosted apple cookies with August’s box. Since I’m vegan, I wasn’t able to try them myself but my kids (and husband) assured me that they were moist and absolutely delicious!
The ultimate chocolate lover’s cookie, this guy combines chocolate cookie dough with a sprinkling of chocolate chips. Yum!
A classic sugar cookie made with pure ingredients including wheat flour, sugar, butter, and eggs. Like the others, this one was incredibly moist and delicious (according to my husband).
Finally, there was a traditional chocolate chip cookie. I think this was my girls’ favorite, but they also said that about the buttercream frosted cookies and chocolate chocolate chip one as well. 😉
I didn’t think to snap a photo of the girls enjoying the cookies until the very last one. — When they lick their fingers between bites, you KNOW they gotta be good! 😀
Needless to say, we really enjoyed our August shipment from Cheryl’s Kids Cookie & Book Club! The Walter the Farting Dog book and plush were an instant hit with my kiddos and the cookies were devoured in a matter of days. It’s definitely a fun subscription for kids and would make a great back-to-school gift. 🙂
Cheryl’s has given me an exclusive coupon code to share with my readers. — Use “ROSEBUD15” to save 15% sitewide! — Please note: Coupon is not valid on clubs or subscriptions (which are already discounted), but is good for almost ALL other products on the Cheryl’s site including some really cute kid’s cookie gifts!
