Let’s see what’s in my June 2017 Cocoa Couriers Chocoholic Chocolate Box!
Everything was shipped in a plain brown box with the Cocoa Couriers logo on top.
A peek inside!
The chocolates were all tucked into an insulated bubble pouch.
An enclosed card gave more information about their never ending quest for the finest artisan chocolates to offer their subscribers.
Brasstown Fine Artisan Chocolate Blueberry 75% ($12.99)
Manufactured in Winston-Salem, NC, this bean-to-bar chocolate is made with organic cacao beans sourced from the Manabi province of Ecuador. It also contains raw sugar, organic cocoa butter, and whole dried blueberries — which you can see poking through the smooth chocolate surface in the photo above.
Undone Chocolate Roasted Almond Bar ($9)
A small batch dark chocolate bar made from single origin cacao beans from the Dominican Republic. It’s blended with lightly roasted almonds and sprinkled with Himalayan pink salt for added texture and flavor. All of Undone Chocolate’s bars are organic, fair trade, and vegan-friendly. Yay!
Mānoa Chocolate Hawaiian Sea Salt 72% Cacao ($9.56)
A premium, bean-to-bar chocolate from Oahu, Hawaii. It consists of 72% cacao, cane sugar, organic cocoa butter, and a Hawaiian sea salt that was once used for medicinal & spiritual purposes. This bar is great paired with chardonnay, sour ales, or enjoyed all on its own.
Marsatta Supreme Dark Chocolate ($8)
Unlike most chocolate bars that contain sugar, this Marsatta 100 bar is made with only 100% organic cacao beans — and nothing else! It’s about as pure of a chocolate experience as you can get and is both vegan friendly & heart healthy. 🙂
Dick Taylor Craft Chocolate Black Fig ($11.99)
72% dark Madagascar chocolate paired with California grown black mission figs. All of the chocolate produced by Dick Taylor is carefully crafted from the bean in their small factory in northern California, resulting in a pure bean-to-bar chocolate indulgence.
Cocoa Couriers is clearly an ideal subscription box for lovers of handcrafted artisan chocolates. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all of the bars I received were vegan-friendly. (Woohoo!) At first, I thought the monthly cost seemed a bit high, but considering the average retail price of each bar is roughly $10, it’s actually pretty reasonable. 🙂
