Let’s see what’s in the August 2017 Degustabox!
As always, everything was shipped in a big box with the Degustabox logo on the side.
A peek inside!
An info sheet listed all of the items inside, as well as brief descriptions, photos, and retail prices for each one.
Welch’s Berry Fruit Rolls ($2.99)
These fruit rolls are a new offering from Welch’s that are made with real fruit and contain 100% of your daily recommendation of Vitamin C. However, while fruit puree is the first ingredient listed, these also include sugar and corn syrup, so don’t mistake them as a health food. 😉 I was happy to see that they didn’t contain gelatin and I’m sure my kids will love ’em.
Vintage Italia Meatball Parm Pasta Bow-Ties ($3.99)
I’ve had these “meatball parm” flavored puffed pasta snacks before and am still amazed that they’re actually vegan-friendly! (Or at least they appear to be, based on the ingredients list.) They’re made with all natural, non-GMO ingredients and have just 120 calories per serving.
Hummustir ($3.99)
I’ve been all about hummus lately, so I was excited when this was released as a spoiler for August’s box. It’s a hummus kit that includes everything you need to stir up a fresh batch of the creamy spread whenever you’d like — perfect for picnics & camping! It does need to be refrigerated after its blended, but hopefully you can kill it off in one shot. 😉
SunSpire SunDrops ($7.69)
A more natural version of M&Ms, these candy-coated chocolates are made without any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. They also contain fair trade certified cocoa and all natural vanilla. My girls are crazy for M&Ms so I know they’re gonna be equally as crazy for these.
Sharwood’s Korma Cooking Sauce ($3.99)
A classic Indian Korma cooking sauce made with coconut milk, cream, tomatoes, and spices including cardamom & saffron. Just add your favorite meat, fish, or veggies and cook for 20 minutes. Easy!
Dole Peaches in Strawberry Gel ($2.79)
All natural diced peaches suspended in a strawberry flavored gel. I was pleasantly surprised to see that these weren’t made with actual gelatin, but then sad to see they were colored with cochineal (beetle) extract. Ah well. We’ll be passing these along to a non-vegan/vegetarian family member (which we have plenty of).
Vintage Italia Pasta Chips ($3.99)
These crunchy baked snacks are made with semolina flour and have 60% less fat than regular chips. I’ve gotten these in quite a few different snack subscription boxes and this rosemary version is my favorite, so I was happy to see this big bag included. 🙂
Goya Tostones ($1.29)
Mmm! I love plantain chips! These ones are twice fried and seasoned with sea salt for a sweet, slightly salty flavor. They’re vegan-friendly, gluten-free, and made with non-GMO ingredients.
Goya Golden Maria Sandwich Cookies ($0.89)
Another product from Goya, these vanilla sandwich cookies are filled with a sweet chocolate flavored filling. The packaging is too cute!
Turkey Perky Jerky ($2.99)
A high protein teriyaki flavored jerky made with marinated turkey. It’s all natural, gluten-free, and contains no preservatives.
Nature’s Bakery Fig Bar ($0.67)
My kids LOVE these fig bars. They eat one nearly every day as a treat after lunch. These are made with ancient grains including teff & amaranth and they’re also free of high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives.
NuttZo Chocolate Peanut Pro (“Gift”)
This “to go” packet of nut butter was included as a free gift. It’s made with a blend of 7 nuts & seeds and contains no added sugars or oils.
Another jam-packed shipment of goodies from Degustabox! My favorite items this month were the Hummustir, Pasta Snacks, SunSpire SunDrops, Fig Bar, and Goya Tostones. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can get your first box for just $9.99 (regularly $19.99) — plus FREE shipping! — To score this awesome deal, just use coupon code “CJOFFER17” at checkout!
