Time to review the December 2016 Degustabox!
If you haven’t heard, Degustabox is a new subscription box that sends an assortment of food and drink products to your door every month. Each box will feature at least 10 full-sized products (as well as samples) from a variety of high quality brands. Items can include popcorn, jams, snack bars, beverages, condiments, nut butters, candies, nuts, and more. The mission of Degustabox is to help introduce you to new brands and products for less that you’d pay for them in store. The total value will always exceed the cost of the monthly subscription.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $19.99/month with free shipping within the US. —For a limited time, you can get your first box for just $9.99 shipped! No coupon code needed. (If the link doesn’t automatically take $10 off, you can use coupon code “8717R” at checkout.)
Let’s see what’s in the December 2016 Degustabox!
I forgot to snap a photo of the box itself this time, but here’s a peek inside. — Festive!
Packed full as always. 🙂
An info sheet listed all of the items inside, as well as brief descriptions, photos, and retail prices for each one.
December’s box also featured a colorful sheet of Degustabox holiday gift tags. Cute!
Pillsbury Purely Simple Cake & Cupcake Mix ($3.29) – Oooh, cake! This mix from Pillsbury contains no coloring, preservatives, or artificial flavors. Just add butter, milk, and eggs for a standard size cake or 24 cupcakes. Surprisingly, the mix was also free of dairy, so I think I’m going to try to veganize the recipe and make some festive cupcakes for the holidays.
Pillsbury Purely Simple Buttercream Frosting Mix ($1.99) – Unfortunately (for me), this frosting wasn’t vegan-friendly (it contains buttermilk), but it was great that they included it along with the actual cake mix.
Loacker Gran Pasticceria ($3.05) – Two boxes of sweet wafer treats were included in December’s box. Noir Orange featured dark chocolate biscuits with chocolate orange cream, while Coconut featured milk chocolate biscuits with coconut cream.
Wise White Cheddar Popcorn ($3.49) – A full size bag of air popped popcorn made with real cheddar cheese. It’s gluten free and has just 75 calories per cup.
Ricola Herbal Immunity Lozenges ($13.99) – I couldn’t find this exact product on Amazon, so I’m not sure if the price on the info card is a typo or if these things are just that expensive. This box contains 28 honey herb flavored lozenges that help support your immune system with ginseng and Vitamins C, B6, & B12.
Urbane Grain Beef Burgundy Ancient Grain Blend 3 Minute Meal ($2.99) – A hearty, microwavable meal made with ancient grains, whole grain pasta, vegetables, and herbs. It’s ready in just 3 minutes and provides lots of filling protein & fiber.
KALA Simply Peppered Beans ($3.99) – A healthy snack consisting of roasted fava beans flavored with Himalyan pink salt and black pepper. It’s gluten-free, vegan-friendly, and packed with plant-based fiber.
Chips Ahoy! Cinnamon Sugar Thins ($3.79) – My fingers were crossed that these would be vegan, but alas, they were not. 🙁 They look to be a thinner, crispier version of regular Chips Ahoy cookies, but flavored with cinnamon and sugar. Mmm!
Smuckers Fruit & Honey Strawberry Jalapeño Spread ($3.49) – Nope… You can keep your jalapeños out of my fruit spread, Smuckers. It looks like they have a lot of other (more traditional) flavors, which I’m sure are less intimidating that this one.
Nabisco Good Thins ($3.69) – Crunchy crackers made with real oats, whole grains, and flaxseed. They contain no artificial colors or flavors, cholesterol, partially hydrogenated oils, or high fructose corn syrup. Each 21-piece serving has just 140 calories and 0.5 grams of fat.
Honey Acres Honey Straws ($1) – A sampler pack of five flavored honey sticks in clover, lemon, orange, raspberry, and mint chocolate. Enjoy them in a hot beverage, drizzled on a baked good, or just eaten right out of the straw.
Another jam-packed offering from Degustabox! There weren’t as many vegan-friendly items as in past boxes, but it was a nice selection nonetheless. The total value of all the items this month was over $40. Nice! — Remember, for a limited time you can get your first box for just $9.99 shipped! No coupon code needed. (If the link doesn’t automatically take $10 off, you can use coupon code “8717R” at checkout.)
