Doki Doki Crate (by Japan Crate) is a subscription box that sends you a “monthly supply of everything kawaii”.
Each box will feature 5-6 licensed kawaii-themed products shipped directly from Japan. Items can include household goods, plushies, apparel, travel accessories, decor, stationery, toys, and more. Brands featured in past boxes have included Hello Kitty, Aggretsuko, Totoro, My Melody, Little Twin Stars, Pompompurin, Rilakkuma, Sumikko Gurashi, and Gudetama.

A fold-out info sheet listed all of the items in this month’s crate, along with photos and brief descriptions of each one. — May’s theme was “Sweet Dreams”.
Kirby Night Light
This cute lamp-shaped night light features Kirby and Waddle Dee surrounded by clouds, stars, and colorful parasols. It has a push-button on/off switch and is battery operated (I think it was 3 AAA’s — my husband put them in. 😉 ). When switched on, the top/shade part gives off a warm white glow.
Pajya Shark Plushie
Raaaain-bow shark doo doo doo doo doo doo! According to the info sheet, this lil’ guy is meant to look like he’s made of a common Japanese fluffy pajama material. If I had pj’s made from this material, I’d never get out of bed — it’s sooo soft! Needless to say, this shark is great to snuggle with. Adorable too!
My Melody Mesh Case
Bring a little kawaii to your next overnight adventure by stashing your toiletries in this cute My Melody themed mesh bag. It has a zipper closure and measures roughly 10 inches long by 8 inches high. It would make a great bag for school/office supplies too!
San-X Sumikko Gurashi Towel
I’ve gotten quite a few little washcloths/towels from other kawaii subscription boxes, but this one is by far the cutest EVER! I feel like I’d fit right into the Sumikko Gurashi crew, as I can relate to their homebody nature and the quote printed at the top of the towel — “There in the corner is where we always want to be”. My favorite character used to be the little green weed guy, but now I’m also feelin’ the love for that non-expressive ghost and happy lil’ fuzzball. 😉 (Oh yeah, I should probably mention that this towel is on the small size. — Larger than a washcloth, but much smaller than a beach towel. Perfect for drying your hair/face or using to wipe down equipment at the gym.)
Kirby Eye Mask
As cute as this item is, it’s probably the one thing from this box that won’t get used. It’s nicely made and super cute, but I just don’t have a need for a sleep mask. Subscribers either received this Kirby version or one featuring Waddle Dee.
The May 2019 Doki Doki Crate was packed with “sweet dreams”-inspired kawaii goodness! My daughters love their new Kirby night light & fluffy shark friend and I love that adorable Sumikko Gurashi towel. <3 Such a fun box!
