If you’re new to them, DoodleBug Busy Bags is a fun subscription for little ones from Kidable Adventures (the company behind Little Thinker Box). Let’s see what’s in the August 2018 DoodleBug Busy Bag!
As always, all of the crafts were shipped in a padded envelope and sealed in a ziplock bag.
All of the crafts were listed on an info sheet, along with photos and tips on how to complete each one. — August’s theme was “Crafting Fun” and included a collection of non-themed crafts.
Craft Stick Apple Ornament Craft Kit
We ended up doing August’s crafts a little later than planned (in September), so this apple kit was very fitting for back to school. Just peel the paper backing from the foam apple to reveal the sticky adhesive, then place the wooden craft sticks into the appropriate places as indicated on the instruction sheet.
Sticking the sticks.
Apple ornament: Complete. 🙂
Summer Treats Sand Art Picture
My girls and I always enjoy doing these sand art projects. Just peel away one section at a time to reveal the sticky backing, then sprinkle sand over that area. Repeat for each section until your artwork is entirely filled in with sand.
Smoothing out the colored grains.
So colorful!
Anchor Mobile Craft Kit
Make a sea creature themed mobile using a foam anchor, blue string, and foam stickers of shells & bubbles.
The foam stickers needed to be sandwiched together over the string for a secure hold.
The cute little jellyfish was a fan favorite over here. 😉
Mini Cupcake Sticker Scene
These are always fun and super simple to complete. — Just use the sheet of stickers on the right to decorate the cupcake page on the left.
Sprinkles were placed first, naturally.
Now that’s a tasty-looking cupcake!
Foam Monster Puppet Craft Kit
This was one of the easiest crafts ever. — Just peel & stick on the monster’s eyes, peel the sticker from the wooden stick, attach to the monster, and you’re done.
Easy peasy.
Monster puppet friend.
Apple Wood Necklace Craft Kit
Another apple craft! These beaded necklace kits are another favorite of my kiddos. They’re easy to make and fun to wear.
Stringing on the beads while her carrot friends supervise.
The girls loved that “happy apple” charm. 🙂
Monster Flower Magnet Craft Kit
Subscribers received one of three different monster variations. Just peel and stick the foam pieces to form the monster, using the instruction sheet as a guide. (Note: The actual magnet isn’t shown in the photo above, but WAS included in the bag.)
Giving the monster his horns.
He’s a goofy lookin’ dude, but he’s happy to have found a home on our fridge.
Glitter Fish Mosaic Craft
I still dread seeing these glitter kits and this one actually seemed extra glittery (so much fallout!). But my kids enjoy ’em, so what can ya do. 😉
You can’t really see the glitter all over the work area, but it was there. (It was EVERYWHERE.)
She was saving her favorite shade of blue for last, but got sidetracked and forgot to finish. (I’m not complaining. 😀 )
Another collection of easy-to-complete crafts from our friends at DoodleBug Busy Bags! — If you’re interested in subscribing, the September bag won’t have any dedicated theme, but October’s will be Halloween, November – Thanksgiving/Fall, December – Christmas, and January – Winter.
