e-Sentials is a brand new subscription service for that oh-so-wonderful “time of the month”. They want to save you the trouble of having to go out and replenish your stock of “essentials” every month. (Or worse, making your bf/husband do it.)
There are 3 different package options to choose from: $10 for 20 pads/tampons of your choice. $13 for the pads/tampons and 3 disposable razors. $16 for the pads/tampons, 3 disposable razors, and deodorant. Packages are totally customizable — you choose how many pads and/or tampons you need, if you want light/heavy/etc., and whether or not you need extras (there is a 30 cent charge for additional pads/tampons). Shipping is always free.
I was sent the $16 package for review purposes. Here’s what I received…
I’m not a fan of tampons, so I chose to receive pads only. These are 20 Always Ultra Thin Regulars. There was also an option to choose a combo of Extra Long and Overnights, but I rarely use those, so I stuck with all Regular. I was kind of surprised that Always was the only brand available to choose from, pad-wise. Tampon users had a lot more options. I’m totally fine with Always, but I’m guessing some people may want more to choose from.
There was only one choice listed in the drop-down menu for the razors: “3 blade disposable razor with aloe strips and pivoting head”. So yeah, I chose that, and that’s exactly what I received. Nothing fancy, but they get the job done.
I also received 3 Summer’s Eve Cleansing Cloths. These weren’t mentioned on the site, so it was just a little “bonus” item.
There were quite a few different deodorant brands to choose from, which was nice. I went with Dove Sensitive Skin, cos I have emo armpits (SO sensitive!). 😉
I’ll admit, e-Sentials wasn’t the most exciting “box” I’ve ever received, but I think part of that feeling is due to the fact that there are just so many other “time of the month” boxes out there. Ones that include “treats” like candy, tea, and other fun goodies. It made this box seem a little, well, boring to me. However, if you’re just looking for the essentials, and don’t care about “extra” stuff, this sub is a good option.
e-Sentials has kindly offered a promo code for my readers that’ll get you 50% off your first month. To take advantage of this awesome deal, just use the code “2LRB” at checkout.
Oh — I should probably note that I had trouble with their website while using Chrome. I wasn’t able to scroll down to the bottom of the page to select my deodorant choice. I switched over to Safari and it worked fine. Just a head’s up! 🙂
Disclosure: I received this package for free. I was not compensated in any other way. All opinions are my own.
