April 2017 Fit Snack unboxing time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, supplements, beverages, and more.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the April 2017 Fit Snack box!
The familiar white & turquoise box was shipped via Priority Mail.
A peek inside!
An info card listed all of the snacks, as well as accompanying photos, short descriptions, and a few discount codes.
Nutiva Organic Hazelnut Spread in Dark
A full sized jar of organic hazelnut spread made with all natural, non-GMO ingredients. This contains 40% less sugar than the leading brand and is both vegan-friendly and gluten free. Thanks to the inclusion of flaxseed and chia seeds, the spread also has 450mg of plant-based omega-3 per serving. I’ve actually never had Nutella before, so I’m excited to try this vegan version!
Nutiva Organic Hazelnut Spread in Classic
Along with the jar, there were also two sample packets of Classic flavor Nutiva spread (the jar was “Dark”).
Rise Buddy Pizza Flavor Baked Rice Snacks
A healthier alternative to regular potato chips, these Rise Buddy snacks are made with brown rice and are baked, not fried. They’re also gluten-free and contain no trans fats.
RXBAR Chocolate Sea Salt Bar
A real food protein bar made with 100% natural ingredients. It consists of dates, egg whites, cashews, almonds, cacao, cocoa, natural chocolate flavor, and sea salt. There’s no added sugar, soy, dairy, or gluten and each bar has a whopping 12 grams of protein.
Tera’s Active Nutrition Recovery Blend
This special recovery blend is designed to help you naturally replenish and rehydrate your body after a workout. It contains a blend of casein, whey protein, coconut water, and other natural ingredients, along with 18 grams of protein.
Buff Bake Snickerdoodle Protein Cookie
A big dose of protein in the form of a cookie! This snickerdoodle flavored treat has a traditional sweet cinnamon flavor and is coated with a protein-filled frosting. It’s non-GMO, as well as gluten free and contains 16 grams of protein per cookie.
Viter Energy Breath Mints
These wintergreen flavored mints both freshen your breath and boost your energy. Just one single mint has about half the amount of caffeine as a standard 8 ounce cup of brewed coffee and half the amount of caffeine as in a standard sized energy drink.
April’s Fit Snack box was a lot like March’s, in that it didn’t include very many vegan-friendly items. However, the one item that was vegan (the hazelnut spread) looks like it’s going to be delicious, so I don’t mind too much. 😉 — If you’d like to try Fit Snack out for yourself, they’ve kindly given me a special discount to share with my readers.
