January’s Fit Snack has arrived! — Just in time to help you stick to those health/fitness related New Year’s resolutions. (Or pick ’em back up if you’re like me and already threw in the towel on January 3rd. 😉 )
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, oils, and the like.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the January 2016 Fit Snack box!
As usual, everything was shipped in a big blue box with a white Fit Snack logo on the top and sides.
An info card listed all of the snacks, as well as accompanying photos, short descriptions, and a few discount codes.
Veggie Go’s Sweet Potato Pie Fruit & Veggie Snack – A sweet treat made with real fruits and veggies. It’s gluten-free, vegan, and contains only sweet potatoes, apples, and spices.
Morning Sunshine Kitchen Apple Cinnamon Quinoa Breakfast Cookie – Cookies for breakfast? Works for me. This apple cinnamon cookie is made with all natural ingredients and packed with fiber & protein. It’s also gluten-free & dairy-free (sadly for me, it does contain eggs).
Hot Chocolate Clif Bar – It’s here! This was actually supposed to be included in last month’s box, but due to a shipping delay they had to swap it out for something else. I LOVE Clif bars, so was happy to see that it found its way into this month’s selection. 🙂
Genesis Today Drink Mixes – Included were two small packets of superfood drink supplements and one large packet of essential greens. They’re both supposed to help support weight management & nutrition and appear to be vegan. I’ll toss ’em into my daily smoothie and see if I feel any healthier. 😉
NutriBlade Premium Wheatgrass Beverage – I can’t say I’m a fan of wheatgrass (I’m guessing not many people are?), but I know the benefits are worth the not-so-awesome taste. That said, I’ll probably use this in a smoothie — with LOTS of sweet bananas.
Fruit Bliss Mini Apricots – An all natural snack consisting of only 100% organic Turkish apricots. The texture takes some getting used to, but they’re not bad!
Miracle Tree Tea – Organic teas made with dried moringa leaves for a healthy boost of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.
Good Day Calm Chocolates – Milk chocolate candy coated treats infused with ingredients that promote relaxation. Like zen M&Ms. 😉
Green Guru X Cross Energizer – This was listed as a “bonus item” and is a 100% natural energy supplement that gives you a boost without the jitters.
January’s Fit Snack had a nice mix of products, but I would have liked to have seen a couple larger sized snack items. The “bonus item” was actually the highest value item, retailing for $49.95. Obviously that alone more than pays for the monthly cos of the entire box. However, if you’re not into supplements, the box seems a little lacking.
If you’d like to try Fit Snack for yourself, they’ve kindly given me a special discount to share with my readers. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box! No coupon needed — just use my link!
