It’s Fit Snack time again!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, oils, and the like.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the June Fit Snack box!
The familiar blue box.
The info card listed all of the snacks, as well as short descriptions and a few discount codes.
Ips Chips – Protein-packed chips made with egg whites. I received both Barbeque & Cinnamon flavor and each bag has an impressive 6 grams of protein per serving.
One Bar Fruit Bar – This little bar is equivalent to one serving of fruit and contains pears, apples, cherries, and other natural fruit-based ingredients. It’s both vegan and gluten-free.
Bite Fuel Power Bites Protein Cookies in Chocolate Chip – Gluten-free, high protein chocolate chip cookies made with non-GMO ingredients. Each bag contains 18 grams of protein! I was hoping these would be vegan, but alas, they are not. Womp-woooomp. 🙁
Big Tree Farms Coconut Sugar – This was listed as a bonus item, which is good since it’s such a small sample. It’s an organic coconut sweetener with a flavor comparable to brown sugar.
Big Tree Farms Pineapple Coco Hydro – Make instant coconut water with this convenient powder mix. One packet has the equivalent of the water from 2 whole coconuts.
Sweetwood Cattle Co. Snap Dragon Seasoning – A hand-crafted blend of green chili, ginger, garlic, cumin, cilantro, celery salt, oregano, and salt. Ground locally in Colorado.
Bear Naked Granola – Two flavors were included: Coconut Almond Curry, which is a mix of coconut, almonds, cashews, curry powder, and more… and Sea Salt Caramel Apple, a blend of apples, oats, sea salt, cinnamon and other natural flavors.
FitMiss Delight Women’s Complete Protein Shake – Two Vanilla Chai flavored shakes were included. They’re gluten-free, low carb, high in protein, and keeps you feeling full for hours.
Safe Catch Tuna – This is the only tuna brand that tests every fish for mercury levels. It’s labeled as “dolphin safe” and states that the tuna are responsibly caught. The can is also BPA free.
The featured Fit Snack workout this month was a short run with intervals of jogging, sprinting, and speed walking.
June’s Fit Snack box definitely had a high-protein theme goin’ on. While this is probably a good thing for most people, as a vegan it was kind of a bummer since so many of the products included eggs. Ah well. As always, I didn’t do a cost breakdown (I rarely do for snack boxes), but I feel like there were a fair amount of snacks and it’s in line with other snack subscription boxes.
If you’d like to try Fit Snack for yourself, they’ve kindly given me a special discount to share with my readers. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box! No coupon needed — just use my link!
