March Fit Snack unboxing time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, oils, and the like.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the March 2016 Fit Snack box!
The familiar blue Fit Snack box!
A peek inside.
An info card listed all of the snacks, as well as accompanying photos, short descriptions, and a few discount codes.
Ips Chips Sea Salt & Black Pepper – These puffed corn snack chips have half the fat as regular chips and 30% less carbs than baked ones. They’re made with non-GMO corn, whey protein, egg whites, and other all natural ingredients. Each serving provides 6 grams of protein!
Lesser Evil Good Cookie in Dark Chocolate Flax – This healthier cookie is made with hearty whole grain oats, nuts, flax seed, chocolate chips, cranberries, and more. It contains no refined sugar and boasts 6 grams of protein per serving.
Backattack Snacks Chocolate Firecracker Almonds – Oooh. These sound good! They’re crunchy almonds covered in cocoa powder, honey, sea salt, and cayenne pepper.
Fru-licious Fruit Ice Pops – I tried one of these fruit pops already and while it was tasty, I definitely wouldn’t call it healthy. The second ingredient is sugar (first is water) and it also contains fructose syrup. Their website states that they contain 99% fruit juice and no added sugar, so I’m not sure what’s up.
Crazy Richard’s PB Burst – This “performance peanut butter” is enhanced with vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It contains no added sugar, salt, or caffeine and contains 8 grams of protein per serving.
Kutoa Nutrition Bar in Chocolate Banana – I’ve tried quite a few different flavors of these bars thanks to subscription boxes. I don’t love the chocolate banana, but I do appreciate that it’s vegan-friendly and that each bar purchased gives a meal to a child in need.
Oh! Bars in Nourish Mint – Honestly, this bar sounds all sortsa wrong. Mainly, the flavor. Bananas and mint? I imagine eating this would be like snacking on a banana right after brushing your teeth. Yeah, no thanks. (For the record, their other flavors sound much better — Joyful Almond and Banana Bread.)
Love Grown Foods Chocolate Power O’s – A unique cereal that’s made with lentils, navy beans, and chick peas. I remember buying a different flavor of these for my girls, but they weren’t into it. Maybe I’ll have better luck with this chocolate flavor.
Bulletproof Coffee – The beans for this coffee are “meticulously grown at high altitude on single estates, harvested, carefully processed and shipped to eliminate inflammation-causing, performance-robbing mold toxins commonly found in coffee”. They must meet “precise purity standards for increased human performance”. I’m not sure what all of that really means, but… it’s coffee.
Bulletproof XCT Oil – Not totally sure what this is, but you put it in your coffee. For… energy? I read the reviews on Amazon and still wasn’t sure what it’s supposed to do. I’m going with more energy and help losing weight. 😉
I feel like Fit Snack boxes have been a lot fuller lately, which is always nice to see. I could have done without two bags of identical chips, but other than that it was a pretty solid box.
