November Fit Snack time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, oils, and the like.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the November 2015 Fit Snack box!
As usual, everything was shipped in a big blue (turquoise?) box.
An info card (with teeny tiny print) listed all of the snacks, as well as short descriptions and a few discount codes.
Breakout Bar in Oat Batter Baby – An all natural, homemade protein bar packed with fiber and (obviously) protein. It has no added sugar or other icky additives. I wish it was vegan-friendly so I could give it a try. Wahhh.
Fuel 100 Electro Bites in Pumpkin Spice – Described as an alternative to bars and gels, these little bites will help you power through your workouts. Each pack contains 90 calories and plenty of electrolytes to keep you energized. Ingredients include potato starch, organic coconut oil, organic agave syrup, and real pumpkin pie spices.
Bite Fuel Protein Granola Trail Mix in Red Berry – This full size bag of granola is made with lots of good-for-you ingredients like cranberries, cherries, almonds, and more. One serving has an impressive 12 grams of protein and it’s a good source of fiber. It’s also gluten free. (But sadly, not vegan.)
Green’s Best Dietary Supplement Powders – I’m not crazy about getting supplements in subscription boxes — especially when they’re sample-sized. These are powders though, so I’ll just toss ’em in a smoothie (as opposed to tossing them in the trash, which is what I do with pill-form supplements 😉 ).
Love Grown Foods Super Oats Packets – Two packets of chia & quinoa brown sugar flavored oatmeal. I’m generally not a fan of hot oatmeal, but the info card suggests mixing one packet with an egg (I’d use a vegan version) and making a whole grain pancake. I might just try that!
Amoda Tea Organic Matcha – 100% organic matcha green tea powder. My husband likes to make matcha tea (he has a special whisk and everything), but I may steal this to use in my smoothies.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts – Okay, I’m officially over hemp hearts. These things were good at first, but after I’ve gotten them in SO many subscription boxes over the past year or two, I’m ready to bid them farewell. 😉
The featured Fit Snack workout this month was a “Secret Recipe for Tight Abs”. (I wish that recipe included chocolate chips.)
November’s Fit Snack box was… just okay. It felt a little lacking this month and I was bummed that the biggest item (granola) wasn’t vegan. I’m not sure why, but it felt like they left something out. It just seemed sparser than usual. Ah well — here’s hoping December’s box makes up for it!
If you’d like to try Fit Snack for yourself, they’ve kindly given me a special discount to share with my readers. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box! No coupon needed — just use my link!

I am with you on the Hemp Hearts! I think I have about ten packets just sitting in my pantry waiting to be used.
