October Fit Snack time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, oils, and the like.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the October 2015 Fit Snack box!
The box!
As always, an info card listed all of the snacks, as well as short descriptions and a few discount codes.
YummySnack Bars – These bars sound really good, so I’m sad that they both contain dairy and I can’t try ’em. Wahh! They’re made with all natural ingredients and packed with protein, fiber, and omega 3’s. Two different flavors were included: Coconut and Peppermint.
Fiona’s Natural Foods Vanilla Sunflower Granola – Yay, granola! This generous 12-ounce package contains small batch granola that’s not only vegan, but also wheat, dairy, soy, and salt free. It’s made with organic ingredients including rolled oats, agave, barley flour, unsweetened coconut, and sunflower seeds.
Caveman Foods Sweet Cherry Chicken Primal Bar – A paleo-friendly snack bar made with real chicken and sweet cherries. One bar has an impressive 18 grams of protein.
Rev Raw Glo Protein Bar in Mixed Nuts, Caramel, & Sea Salt – I love Rev Raw bars! They’re vegan-friendly, are made with raw superfoods, and quite delicious.
TruProteins Coconut Cream Pie Whey Protein – An all natural Australian grass-fed whey protein powder. It’s gluten-free, non-GMO, and contains no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.
Peak Energy Mints – These little mints are designed to give you sustainable energy without any crash or jitters. Just pop them in your mouth 15 minutes before starting your activity and you’ll be good to go.
Love Grown Foods Chocolate Joy Mighty Flakes – A nutritious breakfast cereal made with beans and lentils. They’re free of both wheat and corn, and are made with non-GMO ingredients.
High Brew Coffee Double Espresso Cold Brew – A low calorie cold brew espresso drink made with fairly traded ingredients. Packed with natural caffeine.
The featured Fit Snack workout this month was “The Hero Stairmaster Challenge”.
I was pretty happy with October’s Fit Snack. While there weren’t too many vegan-friendly products, I did love the nice full-sized bag of vegan granola and the Raw Rev bar. The rest of my family will enjoy the other items — especially those YummySnack bars.
