October 2017 Fit Snack review time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, supplements, beverages, and more.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. — For a limited time, you can save $3 on your first box! No coupon needed, just click this link.
Let’s see what’s in the October 2017 Fit Snack box!
The familiar white & turquoise box was shipped via Priority Mail.
A peek inside!
An info card listed all of the snacks, as well as accompanying photos, short descriptions, and a few discount codes.
Wicked Lekker Rooibos Tea with Moringa
An organic tea beverage made with real South African rooibos and the good-for-you superfood, moringa. It’s naturally sweetened with organic cane sugar & wildflower honey and contains no caffeine. Each bottle has just 70 calories.
Vitalfit Tart Cherry Supplement Capsules
These vegetarian (vegan?) anti-inflammatory capsules work like an ibuprofen, minus the side effects. They contain raw tart cherry skin extract from Northern Michigan, along with other plant-based ingredients that work to reduce inflammation and get you back on track.
Natural Wellness Ultra Nourish Chocolate Protein Shake
A gluten-free, plant-based protein shake composed of greens, probiotics, enzymes, herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Each serving contains 150 calories and an impressive 16 grams of pea protein!
Beanitos Baked White Bean Mac n’ Cheese Crunch
Baked cheese puffs made with non-GMO ingredients including whole navy beans, long grain rice, cheddar cheese, and black pepper. I receive these quite often in subscription boxes and my kiddos loved ’em.
Chops Original Beef Jerky
All natural, minimally processed beef brisket made with no preservatives. It’s also gluten-free, non-GMO, and low in fat.
Zippy Bites Salted Caramel Chocolate Energy Truffles
Artisanal, hand-crafted truffles made with a blend of caffeine, guarana, amino acids, and B Vitamins to help increase alertness & productivity. They contain no preservatives or artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners.
Everly Pomegranate Berry Drink Mix
These drink mixes have been in SO many boxes lately. (Thankfully, my husband is a fan.) They’re all natural, sugar free, and have zero calories. Unlike the single-serving packs I’ve gotten in the past, this box contains 3 “pitcher” packets — enough for 24 servings.
TopBit Protein Food Topping
A mixed berry flavored topping to add an extra dose of protein to your favorite foods. It’s vegan-friendly and contains 8 grams of protein per serving.
ZenSweet Monk Fruit Sweetener
Apparently, this is the only all natural, zero calorie, zero glycemic sweetener on the market that measures and tastes like sugar. While that’s definitely a plus, I just can’t get past the weird after taste that monk fruit sweetener leaves. Not my cup o’ tea.
Herbal Strategy
Add one of these little sachets to your favorite smoothie for an added boost of powerful superfoods. They contain a healthy blend of organic freeze dried acai, noni fruit, mangosteen, maca root, spirulina, and other vegan-friendly ingredients.
I’m not sure why, but October’s Fit Snack seemed a little overwhelming to me. Maybe it was the ratio of supplements/powders to snacks? Or the lack of vegan-friendly items this time? I dunno. Can’t win ’em all. 😉 That said, my favorite were the Everly drink mix, rooibos tea, and Beanitos (for my kiddos). 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can save $3 on your first box!
