May 2017 Fruit for Thought review time!
If you haven’t heard, Fruit for Thought is a subscription box that sends you a fun selection of fruit and/or vegetable themed items every month. Each box will feature a different theme consisting of a certain fruit and/or vegetable combination. You’ll typically receive 6 to 8 items — all with scents, flavors and colors that coordinate with that month’s theme. Items may include home decor, jewelry, accessories, stationery products, luxurious bath and body products, artisan items, sweet treats, and more.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $39.99/month or less with multi-month commitments. They also offer a mini box (4-5 items) for $26.99/month. — For a limited time, you can save 10% on your first box with coupon code “ROSE10“!
Let’s see what’s in the May 2017 Fruit for Thought box!
Everything was shipped in a plain white box with a Fruit for Thought sticker on the side.
So bright & cheerful!
A peek inside.
The theme for the May 2017 Fruit for Thought box was “Island Time Tropical Fruit”. All of the items were listed on the sheet above, which also stated that it’s the subscription’s one year anniversary. 🙂
Mango Popcorn by Tasty Confections (Etsy)
I was curious to try this mango flavored popcorn, but I’m not sure if it’s vegan-friendly. The description on Etsy only says that it’s air popped popcorn coated with mango flavoring. It smells good though! 😉
Fruit Smoothie Wax Melts by CandleLadyShannon (Etsy)
These handcrafted “fruit smoothie” wax melts are made with a blend of different tropical fruits scents — melon, pineapple, acai berry, ripe nectarine, guava, baobab fruit, and pomegranate. Each melt is hand-poured and compatible with both electric warmers and tealight warmers.
Flip Flop Bangle Bracelet
A simple silver bangle bracelet with a single flip flop charm that doubles as a clasp. Not really my personal style, but I suppose it fits the summery/tropical theme.
Pineapple Change Purse
Is it bad that my girls are begging me for this thing and I kinda want to keep it for myself? Ha! It’s sooo soft! I was surprised to see that it was lined too. I think it’s my favorite item in the box. 😉
Summer Peach Body Wash by ParadiseBathBoutique (Etsy)
Subscribers could have received one of 3 different bath/body products in assorted tropical scents — body lotion, body wash, or body mist. I received an 8-ounce summer peach scented body wash. I was happy to see that the product was made in the US and wasn’t tested on animals, but kinda bummed to see that it contained sulfates & parabens. (I sort of expected better from handmade/Etsy goods.)
Snap Necklace by ArtClixbyStudio66LLC (Etsy)
This “snap necklace” is designed with a strong embedded neodymium magnet in the base piece that can hold interchangeable magnetic snaps of various designs. Included was one necklace with two tropical themed snaps to change out as you wish.
Tropical Fruits Lip Balm by HeartJCreations (Etsy)
A tropical fruit scented/flavored lip balm made with moisturizing avocado oil, shea butter, passion fruit oil, and beeswax.
Tropical Smarties
I had no idea that tropical smarties were even a thing! Though I never looked at them too closely when the girls have gotten them trick-or-treating, so it’s possible that we’ve had them before. Either way, they were a perfect fit for this month’s box.
Pineapple Drink Cup with Straw
This was listed as a “special anniversary gift”. Not exactly the highest quality item, but my girls have already snatched it and started making pretend smoothies in it for their toys. 😉
I hadn’t reviewed a Fruit for Thought box since their debut last year, so I was happy to see that they still include so many Etsy items. That said, I could have done without some of the cheaper “filler” items, but I did love that little pineapple coin purse! So cute! 😉 — Remember, for a limited time you can save 10% on your first box with coupon code “ROSE10“!
