My Geek Box subscriptions are $26.09/month (plus $3.99 shipping), or less with multi-month commitments. — For a limited time, you can save $11.75 and get free shipping when you use coupon code “TRYBOX” at checkout! (That makes your first box just $14.34 shipped!)
Let’s see what’s in the May 2016 My Geek Box!
The box!
A peek inside. — There wasn’t any kind of info card/booklet included, so I’ll just jump right to the goods!
I’ll start with this guy. Since there was no info card and the box he was in seemed to be possibly missing a top/lid(?), it took a bit of research on my part to figure out what/who exactly this was…
The photos above show the top and bottom of the box. (The back was blank.)
Eaglemoss DC Superhero Figurine Collection Special Edition Doomsday Figure – Thanks to some searching on Amazon, I was able to identify it as a limited edition Eaglemoss Doomsday figure. It’s actually cast in lead (he’s quite heavy!), hand-painted, and numbered. Pretty cool. Unfortunately, it looks as though it originally came with a 20-page magazine and yes, a lid. However, considering it’s currently selling for $74.99 on Amazon, it’s still cool to have the figure itself.
Ray Gun T-Shirt – This month’s t-shirt was solid black with a bright red ray gun design. I’m not sure if this is related to a specific game/show/franchise, but the bottom of the gun reads “Zappomatic 2000”. Either way, it’s a nice simple design that my husband will happily sport.
Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Titans Vinyl Figure – A 4.5″ vinyl recreation of the iconic Ghostbusters vehicle. A nice inclusion with the upcoming release of the reboot.
Mega Bloks Spongebob Squarepants Sandy Wacky Pack Building Playset – Confession time: I’ve never watched a single episode of Spongebob Squarepants in my life. That said, I have no idea who this little beaver(?) dude is. This little playset does look fun for those who are down with the sponge-man though. It contains 39 pieces that allows you to build… um… whatever that thing on the box is. 😉
Kid Robot Yummy Breakfast Pizza Keychain (linked to similar) – Okay, I totally saved the best (well, to me) for last. How flippin’ adorable is this happy pizza enamel keychain?! Ahhh! I love it. I’m declaring him to be made with vegan cheese & meatless pepperoni and to serve as the new keeper of my keys.
Overall, I’m happy with the May 2016 My Geek Box. It had quite an odd mix of items, but when it comes to the geek subscription genre, I actually prefer a theme-less box. I’m not sure why the box/magazine was missing from the Doomsday figure, but other than that I was satisfied with everything included. Especially that happy pizza guy. 😉 — Remember, for a limited time, you can save $11.75 and get free shipping when you use coupon code “TRYBOX” at checkout! (That makes your first box just $14.34 shipped!)
