October 2018 Gentleman’s Box review time!
If you haven’t heard, Gentleman’s Box is a men’s subscription box that delivers a monthly selection of essentials designed for the modern gentleman. Each box will consist of 4 to 6 hand-selected products for men, accompanied by a one-year subscription to GQ magazine (US and Canada only). To pay homage to the iconic men of the world, a new gentleman is selected as each month’s theme. The products inside each Gentleman’s Box are picked to reflect the class and style of that month’s featured individual. Items can include wardrobe accessories such as ties, cufflinks, pocket squares, & socks, as well as grooming supplies like lotions, cleansers, and fragrances.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $25/month or less with an annual commitment. Shipping is free within the US. — For a limited time, you can save $5 on your first box with coupon code “GB5OFF”!
Let’s see what’s in the October 2018 Gentleman’s Box!
Everything was shipped in a small red box with an allover Gentleman’s Box logo design.
A peek inside!
An info booklet gave hints as to which “iconic gentleman” was being honored in October’s box (no spoiler this month, since I haven’t solved it! — Hint: It has something to do with the board game Clue, which I clearly know nothing about. 😉 ). The booklet was also loaded with plenty of information including product info, style inspiration, how to check yourself for breast cancer, and more.
Kurt Mayo Tie ($40)
A mustard colored knit tie is a great piece for easing into the cooler months of autumn. Kurt Mayo, a custom clothing consultant created by Kartheegan M., believes the fabric in your suits & ties are essential to how they look and feel. This 100% cotton tie allows you to add a rich pop of color to your autumn ensembles.
Traveling Gentlemen’s Boutique Tie Bar ($25)
I’m guessing a key is a game piece/component in Clue? Either way, this silver tie bar was created by the Traveling Gentlemen’s Boutique, who believe in making premium accessories that are both affordable and accessible to men everywhere.
Circle Socks ($15)
The info booklet describes this design as “lightning bolts”, but I really don’t see it. Debatable graphics aside, I’m always happy to add a new pair to my (or my husband’s) collection. These are made with a blend of 75% cotton, 22% polyester, and 3% elastic. While not nearly as soft as other brands, they do have a nice stretch and feel quite sturdy.
Lord of Ties Lapel Pin ($20)
Another mustard-colored piece, this flower lapel pin coordinates beautifully with the tie and socks in this month’s collection.
Beeyardo Shaving Cream (sample)
My husband has recently started growing his beard out longer, so grooming/taming supplies are in great demand over here. This little sample sized shaving cream is great to have on hand for travel.
SmartyPants Men’s Complete Gummy Vitamins (sample)
These chewy gummy vitamins come in 3 flavors (lemon creme, blueberry & blackberry) and “1 handsome color”. They’re non-GMO and include omega 3 fish oil, lycopene, CoQ10, folate, and more.
October’s Gentleman’s Box included a nice collection of autumn-friendly accessories. — Some could even pass as being “Halloween-y” with their orange/mustard colors. 😉 The total retail value of everything this time was $100, not including the sample items! — Remember, for a limited time you can save $5 on your first box with coupon code “GB5OFF”!
