GlobeIn time! — April’s theme is “Spring Clean” and features items to help you get your Spring scrubbin’ & organizin’ on. 😉
If you’re not aware, GlobeIn is a monthly subscription box that features handcrafted goods by artisans around the world. Each month features a new theme with products supplied by various artisans.
GlobeIn helps to bring income and exposure to small artists, while introducing you to beautiful pieces of their culture. Many of the products included are eco-friendly, fairly traded, and/or organic. Subscriptions are $40/month (shipping included), or less with multi-month commitments. — You can save 25% on your first month with any 3-month or longer subscription with coupon code “WELCOME“.
In addition to their standard Artisan Box, they also offer a smaller Benefit Basket for just $19.95/month. Every Benefit Basket includes one artisan-made item, along with a handwoven palm leaf basket. (You can see April’s Benefit Basket review here.)
Let’s see what’s inside the April 2016 GlobeIn Artisan box!
The box this month was quite large!
A peek inside!
A little info booklet featured full color photos and background information on all of the products included in the box, as well as the artisans who created them.
Hanging Wall Organizer Peru ($30) – This hanging wall organizer features 4 small pocket compartments on top, along with a larger one at the bottom. Great for stowing toiletries, office supplies, and more. It was made by a member of ASWAN, an organization dedicated to promoting education, entrepreneurship, and social integration among the disabled residents of the Peruvian Andes.
Clean & Fair Multi-Surface Cleaner Ghana/India ($5) – The palm and coconut oil in this eco-friendly cleaner are sourced from small-scale farming alliances in Ghana and India. The formula is both biodegradable and hypoallergenic, yet is still as effective as conventional brands.
Toockies Organic Dish Cloths (Set of 2) India ($10) – These 100% organic cotton & jute scrubbing cloths can be used both in the kitchen to wash dishes, as well as in the shower to exfoliate. Since they’re non-scratching, they can also be used for walls, countertops, vehicles, stainless steel, and more.
Kitchen Towel Turkey ($12) – This kitchen towel is made of 100% cotton that’s woven on a traditional hand loom. Every tassel is also created by hand! GlobeIn sent a bath towel version of this in January’s Benefit Basket and I’m happy to receive this smaller hand towel as well.
Upcycled Container Cambodia ($10) – This month GlobeIn gave subscribers the option to receive their standard palm leaf basket, or this new upcycled container. I was happy to have received the latter, since I have SO many baskets already! The container is made of 100% recycled materials and hand-woven by artisans from Peace Handicrafts, who provides training and employment to landmine victims, disabled persons, and the deaf.
My house is in pretty desperate need of some Spring cleaning/organizing, so this month’s GlobeIn theme was much appreciated. 😉 All of the items will come in handy for a variety of cleaning and organizing/decluttering tasks. Another great GlobeIn box with a total value of $67 in products!
If you’d like to sign up for the GlobeIn Artisan box, you can save 25% on your first month with any 3-month or longer subscription with coupon code “WELCOME“.
