November 2016 GlobeIn review time! — This month’s theme is “Giving” and features a collection of items to welcome in the season of, well, giving.
If you’re not aware, GlobeIn is a monthly subscription box that features handcrafted goods by artisans around the world. Each month features a new theme with products supplied by various artisans. GlobeIn helps to bring income and exposure to small artists, while introducing you to beautiful pieces of their culture. Many of the products included are eco-friendly, fairly traded, and/or organic. Subscriptions are $40/month (shipping included), or less with multi-month commitments. — You can save 25% on your first month with any 3-month or longer subscription with coupon code “WELCOME“.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
In addition to their standard Artisan Box, they also offer a smaller Benefit Basket for just $19.95/month. Every Benefit Basket includes one artisan-made item, along with a handwoven palm leaf basket.
Let’s see what’s inside the November 2016 GlobeIn Artisan box!
Everything was shipped in the signature green & white GlobeIn box.
A peek inside!
As always, a little info booklet featured full color photos and background information on all of the products included in the box, as well as the artisans who created them.
GlobeIn Greeting Card ($2) – GlobeIn included a little greeting card with an appropriately themed “giving” quote from Pablo Picasso.
Hand-Painted Serving Dish Tunisia ($30) – This colorful serving dish was hand-painted by Tunisian artisans in Nabeul, a city on the Mediterranean coast. It’s a beautiful piece that coordinates with other ceramic items that GlobeIn has sent in past boxes. A pretty addition to any Thanksgiving table. 🙂
Gift Box (Set of Three) India ($20) – Is it bad that I’m keeping these gift boxes for my own use, rather than give them away? 😉 These are handmade in India using recycled cotton and are super sturdy. The largest box measures 6.25″ long x 4.25″ wide x 2.75″ tall, with the others small enough to nest inside one another. I’m not sure exactly what I’ll use them for, but I love ’em!
Hand-Painted Sauce Dish Tunisia ($12) – Subscribers were giving the choice to receive this as a substitute for the usual palm leaf basket. It’s a small hand-painted sauce dish that coordinates perfectly with the large serving dish reviewed above. You can use it for serving extra gravy, ketchup, soy sauce, or whatever condiment someone may want a second helping of.
Greeting Card Box Set (Set of Eight) India ($22) – This pretty note card set comes complete with its own little storage box. The cards are made from recycled cotton pulp and include matching envelopes. There are eight cards in all. These are perfect for writing party invitations or thank you notes.
Another nice artisan-made collection of items from GlobeIn! My favorites this month were the gift boxes (so pretty!), large serving dish, and note card set. The total value of all the items in November’s box was $84! — If you’d like to sign up for the GlobeIn Artisan box, you can save 25% on your first month with any 3-month or longer subscription with coupon code “WELCOME“.
