October 2016 Fit Snack unboxing time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, oils, and the like.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the October 2016 Fit Snack box!
A peek inside.
An info card listed all of the snacks, as well as accompanying photos, short descriptions, and a few discount codes.
RW Garcia Mixt Bag Tortilla Chips – I’ve had a few different varieties of RW Garcia chips and I’ve enjoyed them all. These ones are a mix of both blue and yellow corn tortilla chips made with all natural, non-GMO ingredients. They’re both vegan and gluten-free.
Shine Organics Purify Pouch – I’m usually a little leery about fruit & veggie pouches for adults, but I’ve gotten one of these in another box and it was surprisingly good. This “Purify” blend contains a puree of organic apples, guava, kale, strawberry, chia, and more.
Cultures for Health Real Kombucha Starter Culture – This DIY kombucha kit contains one dehydrated, live kombucha starter culture and 10 pH strips. The starter culture allows you to brew your own kombucha for $2 per gallon or less using simple common ingredients including sugar and vinegar.
Tessemae’s Honey Mustard and Sesame Ginger Dressing & Marinade – These single-serve honey mustard and sesame ginger dressing packets are both made with organic ingredients, are free of dairy & gluten, and contain no added sugar.
Miracle Tree Chocolate Moringa Tea – Moringa is a superfood that’s naturally rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids. This caffeine free tea is made with organic moringa which is grown in Sri Lanka with conscience for the environment and their local communities. The tea is free of additives, sugar, and calories.
Sensible Foods Apple Harvest Crunch Dried Snacks – My kiddos love freeze dried fruit snacks. This pouch contains a blend of sweet Fuji and gala mixed with tart granny smith apples. 100% fruit with nothing added.
Backattack Snacks Chocolate Firecracker Almonds – A sweet & spicy snack of almonds coated with cocoa powder, honey, sea salt, and cayenne pepper.
Tera’s Active Nutrition Casein & Whey Protein – A nutritional supplement designed to help you recover after a workout. It’s made with non-GMO ingredients and is gluten-free.
FruitChia Strawberry Blast Bar – An all natural snack bar made with only apple puree, apple concentrate, strawberry concentrate, and chia seeds. It’s packed with omega 3’s and contains no artificial flavors or preservatives.
Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener – All natural, zero calorie/zero glycemic sweetener that cooks and bakes just like sugar. Vegan-friendly, 100% sugar free, gluten free, and non-GMO.
