My Goodies Box came today and though it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t super awesome either. However, for $7.00 (shipping included!), I really can’t complain. I still love getting this box, even when it’s a little underwhelming.
Like last month, I had already seen the spoilers, so I knew what I was going to get. Luckily for me, all of the items this time were vegan except for one. Yeah!!
Let’s see what I got…
Gimbal’s Cherry Lovers Fruit Chews – I’m excited to try these. They look like Jelly Belly’s, but they don’t have any nasty gelatin in ’em. Yay! They’re heart-shaped and come in 9 different cherry flavors — including cherry cheesecake, chocolate cherry and cherry daiquiri. Mmm! The package touts that they contain real cherry juice, which is great, but the first ingredient is sugar and the second is corn syrup, so these are a far cry from being good for you (not that they claim to be). These are definitely my favorite thing in the box this month. (Amazon Price: Roughly $3.16)
The Better Chip Jalapeno Corn Chips – I’m a little nervous about these cos I’m kind of a wimp when it comes to spicy things. These are made with a handful of all natural ingredients including whole grain corn masa flour and, of course, jalapeno peppers. It’s also gluten-free and contains no genetically modified ingredients! (Amazon Price: $1.08)
Glaceau Fruit Water in Orange Mango – I’m not too big on water that isn’t water. Like, if I want water, I want it to be straight up H2O. No colors, no flavors, no “enhancements”. That said, I still might give this a try. It’s got vitamins, magnesium, and zinc… But also artificial colors… Eh… Maybe I’ll give it to my dad. He loves this kinda stuff. (Amazon Price: $2.25)
Crunchmaster Multi-seed Crackers – These are some seriously crunchy crackers. If you want something to sneak into the movies, these are not a smart option. They are LOUD. They’re full of lotsa healthy whole grains/seeds, but are a wee bit bland. They’d probably be a lot better if eaten with hummus or another dippy kind of thing. (This was a pretty small package, so I’m estimating the price at $0.75)
Cosmos Creations Cinnamon Crunch – This was the only non-vegan product in the box. They actually sound super good, so I was bummed to see that they contain butter. Boo! Like the chips, these are also gluten free and made with non-GMO corn. (Again, this is a small size, so I’ll estimate $0.75)
All totaled, the box comes to roughly $7.99, so it’s over the $7.00 that I paid. Not by much, but when you consider the cost of shipping, it’s definitely a good deal.
