Time for another Hamptons Lane review! The theme for August’s box is “Fresh Grill”.
Hamptons Lane is a unique subscription box that features a new selection of kitchen tools, artisan foods, tabletop items, and recipes every month.
Each box will introduce a different theme which spotlights a specific region, food, skill, ingredient, or activity. The themes are announced beforehand, so if it’s not something you’re interested in you’re free to skip that month’s shipment. You can even choose to substitute it with a past box from their shop.
Subscriptions are $47/month, but you can save $10 on your first box with coupon code “subscription10″.
Let’s see what’s in the August 2015 Hamptons Lane “Fresh Grill” box!
I somehow forgot to take a photo of the box itself, so I’m jumping right to a peek inside.
The box featured a full-color information booklet filled with recipes, grilling tips, and more.
All of the items were bundled together and cushioned with bubble wrap (not shown) to ensure that nothing got damaged/broken during shipping.
Lillie’s Q Carolina BBQ Sauce ($8) – A traditional southern style barbecue sauce made with “secret” ingredients including lime and apple. I was excited to see that the ingredients list was vegan-friendly, but then noticed on their website that it says it contains anchovies. Weird.
Hamptons Lane Trio of Grill Planks ($15) – 3 different types of grilling planks were included: Maple, Cedar, and Hickory. The info booklet details which meats/seafood go best with each plank. I’m going to pass these along to my mother-in-law, who’s all about grilling and does it a couple times a week.
FireWire Flexible Grilling Skewers ($15) – These bendable stainless steel skewers make it easy to marinate your meats & veggies right on the skewer. Just bend one into a circle, place it in a plastic bag with some marinade, let it soak, then straighten it out and throw in on the grill.
Tom Douglas’ Rub With Love Salmon Rub ($6.50) – This award-winning rub contains a blend of paprika, thyme, and brown sugar. While made for salmon, it can also be used on other seafood, chicken, and pork. (This is definitely another “mother-in-law” item!)
Elvio’s Small-Batch Argentinian Chimichurri ($17.50) – I have still yet to try chimichurri sauce (I’m a little scared), but I might have to give this one a go. It’s made with all natural ingredients and contains no fructose corn syrup, sugar, additives, or preservatives. It’s also vegan and gluten-free!
As a longtime vegan, this wasn’t exactly my favorite theme from Hamptons Lane, however I can totally appreciate the curation behind it. They’ve included a lot of great, high quality items to really step up your grilling game and I’m sure my mother-in-law will enjoy trying everything out. 😉 The value was impressive too — $62 in products!
