September Ipsy time!
If you’re new here, Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $10/month. When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.
A lot of different variations are sent each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers may have gotten totally different products than you did. Hopefully your beauty quiz answers match you with products that most meet your needs… But honestly, even if you only like one or two of the products, for $10 shipped it’s still a pretty good deal.
Let’s see what’s in my September 2015 Ipsy bag!
The Bag – September’s bag was gold/bronze with a textured zig-zag pattern on the front, and was solid gold like the top on the back.
Acure Argan Oil Cleansing Towelettes ($8.10) – I was surprised to see a full 30-count package included! Nice. These unscented cleansing wipes are 100% vegan, gluten-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, etc. They’re infused with argan oil, won’t clog pores, and are biodegradable.
Crown Oval Concealer Brush ($3) – This concealer brush is made of 100% flexible Japanese Torray Taklon bristles. It can be used to apply and blend concealer, as well as to apply cream-based shadows. (I was happy to see that the bristles are synthetic!)
NYX Cosmetics Ipsy Eye Shadow Trio ($6) – This palette was designed exclusively for Ipsy and features three great shades for fall. I tend to get a lot of light-colored shadows in my beauty boxes, so I was happy to see that dark (black?) one.
Evelyn Iona Cosmetics Cream Blush in Ash (~$4) – An organic, cruelty-free cream blush that gives you a natural, dewy look. It’s paraben-free and $1 from every product sold is donated to woman’s organizations. Cool!
J. Cat Beauty #MOTD Waterproof Slide on Pencil for Eyes in Bronze ($6.49) – I’ve never used bronze liner before, but I suppose I could give it a try. This pencil is waterproof, smudge-proof, glides on smooth, and provides intense color.
September’s Ipsy bag featured a nice selection of products and I’ll likely use at least half of them (which is pretty good for me). My favorite item is the NYX shadow palette, though the Acure towelettes sound nice and I’m impressed that they sent such a large size. The total value wasn’t as high as usual, but still way more than the cost of the bag — roughly $28 in products!
