Surprise My Pet is a monthly subscription box that sends an assortment of treats and toys to your furry friend.
Each box will contain 4-6 items and is customized to the weight of your pet so that they get appropriate treats & toys for their size. To ensure the highest quality, they source all of their treats from the US and Canada, while their chews are from the US, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand. Currently, they only offer boxes for dogs, but other pets are in the works.
Let’s see what’s in the September 2015 Surprise My Pet box!
Everything was shipped in a big yellow box covered in paw prints. Inside, the goods were wrapped in “gift box” printed paper. Cute! Unfortunately, there wasn’t an info card, so I’ll just jump right the products…
Cloud Star Soft & Chewy Buddy Biscuits (~$4) – These low-fat treats are made in the USA and free of corn, soy, artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. They’re easy to chew making them great for puppies and older dogs. I included a close-up because the little gingerbread-shaped biscuits are pretty darn cute.
Multipet Loofa Dog Toy ($8.26) – This purple plush dog toy is about 15 inches long and has a squeaker in its head. There’s also a hard tube-y thing inside the bottom half of it, but I’m not quite sure what it’s for. To massage the dog’s teeth? (Can you tell I’ve never owned a dog before?)
Exclusively Dog Savory Chicken Flavor Natural Dog Bone ($3.50) – An all natural dog treat made in the USA with ingredients including chicken, flaxseed, rolled oats, and carrots.
Etta Says! Crunchy Duck Chew ($3.50) – A crunchy treat made with duck and rawhide. It contains no artificial fillers, colors, or preservatives and is also made in the USA.
Multipet Nuts for Knots Dog Toy ($4.50) – A small rope/knot ball woven with colorful fabric that’s long-lasting for plenty of playtime.
Jones Natural Chews Tender Taffy Beef Liver Blend (~$2.50) – A soft, chewy treat made with natural ingredients including beef liver, cane molasses, and salt. As with the rest of the treats in this box, these were also made in the USA.
I don’t know all that much about dog toys/treats, but I’d say Surprise My Pet did a great job curating September’s box. I do wish they would have included an info card, but no biggie. I think it’s great that they included treats that are all made in the USA and contain natural ingredients. The total value (based on Amazon prices) was just around the cost of the monthly subscription.
