Conscious Box is a monthly subscription box that features eco-friendly/natural products. Items range from healthy snacks, to natural toothpaste, and everything in between. There are 3 different boxes to choose from: The Vegan Box (which I always get), The Gluten-Free Box, and the Classic Box.
Boxes were always $19.95/month, but they’ve recently announced 2 new box options: The Plus (as low as $16.95/mo) and the Taster (as low as $6.95/mo). The “new & improved” boxes promise to include more full sized items, which is always a good thing.
Let’s see what was inside July’s (vegan) box!
First look. I do like that they got rid of their former “box in a box” thing and now just use one larger, sturdier box. I never understood why they used two before.
Izze Sparkling Blackberry Flavored Juice Blend – I keep forgetting to throw this in the fridge so I can try it… It’s a caffeine free/preservative free blend of 70% juice and sparkling water. It has no refined sugars and would probably be quite refreshing on a hot day.
Good Societea Bar in Choco Chai Rooibos – This is a whole foods bar that’s free of dairy, soy, gluten and GMO’s. It’s infused with rooibos tea and each bar has 4 grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein.
Pangea Organics Pyrenees Lavender with Cardamom Lip Balm – I’m guessing this is some damn good lip balm, because it’s selling for $12-14 on Amazon. It’s made with all natural/organic ingredients including jojoba oil, shea butter, and (unfortunately) beeswax. I was bummed to see that last ingredient, considering this is a vegan box and all, so I emailed customer service about it and they’re supposed to be sending me some replacement items.
Instant Reishi Mushroom Tea from Four Sigma Foods – Mushroom tea… Um… This kinda scares me. I guess it’s supposed to be calming and relieve stress, but I’m stressed out just thinking about drinking tea made from mushrooms.
Truvia Natural Sweetener – One packet of this natural stevia sweetener has the same amount of sweetness as 2 teaspoons of real sugar — but without the calories.
Buddy Fruits Fruit Break Blueberry & Blackcurrant Fruit Pouch – I’m always happy to get more fruit pouches. My girls love ’em and I love that they’re made with just real fruit.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts – I’ve gotten these in a lot of different subscription boxes and I really need to make a point of eating them soon. I love sprinkling them on granola, but always forget to do it. They’re a great source of plant-based Omega 3’s with a slightly nutty flavor.
Everly Drink Mix – I got a sample of this last year and actually kept the little card attached for Everly’s baby box. 😉 I’m sure she’ll be thrilled to find out that she’s an all natural, zero calorie drink mix. haha
Allimax Capsules – Don’t worry, these weren’t just thrown into the box like this… There was a big pamphlet attached to them, but it was too big/awkward to fit in the photo. This is a natural supplement made from garlic that’s supposed to help fight off “conditions with a bacterial, fungal, or viral cause”.
This was a kinda “meh” box for me. The lip balm was a high value item, which is great… but it’s also not vegan. I’m happy with the fruit pouch, juice drink, whole foods bar, hemp hearts, and drink mix though. I’m sure a non-vegan would be a lot more satisfied with the box than I am. Ah well, there’s always next month. Oh — and they did say they’d send me out some replacement items, so we’ll see what I get.
