Lulu Luv is a new monthly subscription box designed to promote personal wellness and healthy living in the home.
Each month you’ll receive a box with 4-6 tried and tested products to help you and your family maintain wellness naturally. Many of the items will chosen based on the current season’s most likely aliments such as common cold, allergies, sun burn, insect bites, stomach bug, etc. Items can include salves, bath products, household cleaners, essential oils, lotions, lip balms, and more. While the items will vary from month to month, one thing that will always be included is natural hand soap since hand washing is the most effective method to staying well.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $34.95/month.
Let’s see what’s in the March 2017 Lulu Luv box!
Everything was shipped in a plain brown box with a purple Lulu Luv sticker on top.
A peek inside. — SO many paper squigglies! (I just may have to reuse some of ’em for Easter baskets. 😉 )
An info booklet listed a variety of products that could be in your March, April, or May box. (Sorry about the blurry text, I don’t remember it being that bad when I edited the photo. Oops!) I’m not sure if all March boxes contained the same products, or if they just kind of randomly choose who gets which items over those 3 months. I did see a photo on their Facebook page that showed the same items I received, but I’m not totally sure if there are variations or not.
Green + Lovely Shea & Coconut Hand Soap ($9.50)
As promised, hand soap! — This chemical-free soap is made with saponified organic coconut and olive oils, and infused with shea butter & dead sea salt to soften hands while it gently cleanses. It also contains grapefruit seed extract which offers natural antibacterial properties along with a fresh citrus scent. The nicely lathering formula is free of SLS, parabens, and other harsh chemicals & is 100% cruelty-free/vegan-friendly. 🙂
Traditional Medicinals Organic Peppermint Tea ($7.11)
A naturally caffeine-free herbal tea made with just one ingredient: organic peppermint leaf. Peppermint tea is often used to soothe an upset stomach and help with digestive discomfort. I usually opt for ginger tea when I’m having tummy troubles, but this is a nice alternative to have on hand as well. 🙂
Edens Garden Lemon Essential Oil ($8.95)
I’m building quite a collection of essential oils, thanks to subscription boxes. This is my very first lemon oil, which I’m excited to try as citrus scents are my absolute favorites. Edens Garden made this 100% pure oil using cold pressed lemon peel sourced from Italy. Lemon can be used to cleanse the air, surfaces and the body, as well as uplift sullen moods and inspire positive thinking.
The Honey Shop Breath-Ease (~$2?)
A natural blend of honey, organic blue agave, extract of lemon, and herbs to help relieve the symptoms of allergies and the common cold.
Honeyrun Farm Natural Lip Balms ($7 for 2)
These all natural lip balms are made with beeswax from Honeyrun Farm’s own honey extraction process. They also contain apricot kernel oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, flavor oil, and Vitamin E. I received the flavors Let it Bee (Raspberry) and Bee Cool (Blackberry Pomegranate).
I really enjoyed my first box from Lulu Luv! I loved that there was a good mix of both household and personal products — and of course the fact that everything was made with natural ingredients. My favorite items were the hand soap, lemon essential oil, and peppermint tea. The retail value of everything was roughly $35, which is right around the cost of the monthly subscription. 🙂
