I was recently contacted by Matilda Jane to see if I would be interested in reviewing some of their pieces for the holidays. Well, heck yes, I was interested! I love getting to play dress-up with the girls. π
This was actually my second experience with Matilda Jane. I was first introduced to their line back in September, when they had me review some pieces from their Paint by Numbers collection. So cute!
If you’re new to them,Β Matilda Jane ClothingΒ is a mom-owned company that specializes in uniquely designed girlβs clothing and accessories. Their collections are fun, whimsical, and sized to fit everyone from babies to mommas.
Matilda Jane was nice enough to send me two outfits this time. One for each of my girls. Awesome!
Turtledove Knot Top – I love this top! I actually thought it was more of a dress/jumper, which is probably why I like it so much. It definitely fits the girls like a dress. The colorful bird (er, turtledove) print on the skirt is freakin’ adorable. I gotta be honest… I wasn’t sure how to fasten the straps at first, so I just pulled them through the button hole things. Not surprisingly, they slipped right out when I put them on the girls. That’s when I realized you’re supposed to tie knots in the ends. Whoops. π
Stippling Tee – This is a cute, basic tee that goes great with the top above. It’s a pretty, deep burgundy/plum color with cream dots — a nice color combo for winter. I like the way this fit on the girls. The sleeves were snug, like more “grownup” layering tees, which just made it all the more cute to me for some reason. I dunno. I guess it was a nice change from all the normal, baggy “baby” clothes. (I’m sure I’ll totally regret that statement someday.)
Gallery Leggings – Okay, I’m just gonna say it… I am sooo not a fan of these. Like, at all. They’re just too loud/60’s lookin’ for me. (And the bottoms remind me of the little plant guys that come up out of the tubes in Super Mario (old school Nintendo version)… Or homemade hand puppets. I think it’s the buttons looking like eyes thing. Am I way off on this? haha) I will say that they are very soft though. They also fit nicely and are well made. Too bad they’re hideous not my style. π
There’s the whole outfit. I looove the top two pieces, but the leggings will be passed along to a more… Β “groovy” momma.
Getting 16-month olds to pose is damn near impossible. Getting them to pose together? Yeeeah, not gonna happen.
Books are more important than modeling.
Sippy cups too.
This is as “model-y” as they (well, Chloe) got.
Giveaway time!
Matilda Jane was nice enough to offer my readers a chance at winning a $50 gift card! Woohoo!

Personally I like the leggings. I see 60’s in the entire outfit. But I like the 60’s look. I do not agree with you on the review.
Christina Swenson
To harsh. The pants are gorgeous! I have been entering every giveaway I can find to win these for my daughter since I can’t afford them. They are so fashionable and fun!
Brittany

Hollie Peeden
I like the leggings!
Hope Boyce
I love the leggings with the outfit – that little bit of the plum polka dot is perfect. The buttons and cute “ruffle” are my fave. In my early MJ days, the colors and prints combos were a little much. But now I am all over it. These three pieces are great together! Your girls are the cutest and you are a cool blogger! Glad to find you!
Wendy Rose
Thanks! π

Michelle L
I love them! If you’re daughters personality fits then why not:)
