I was recently contacted by Matilda Jane to see if I would be interested in reviewing some of their pieces for the holidays. Well, heck yes, I was interested! I love getting to play dress-up with the girls. 🙂
This was actually my second experience with Matilda Jane. I was first introduced to their line back in September, when they had me review some pieces from their Paint by Numbers collection. So cute!
If you’re new to them, Matilda Jane Clothing is a mom-owned company that specializes in uniquely designed girl’s clothing and accessories. Their collections are fun, whimsical, and sized to fit everyone from babies to mommas.
Matilda Jane was nice enough to send me two outfits this time. One for each of my girls. Awesome!
Turtledove Knot Top – I love this top! I actually thought it was more of a dress/jumper, which is probably why I like it so much. It definitely fits the girls like a dress. The colorful bird (er, turtledove) print on the skirt is freakin’ adorable. I gotta be honest… I wasn’t sure how to fasten the straps at first, so I just pulled them through the button hole things. Not surprisingly, they slipped right out when I put them on the girls. That’s when I realized you’re supposed to tie knots in the ends. Whoops. 😉
Stippling Tee – This is a cute, basic tee that goes great with the top above. It’s a pretty, deep burgundy/plum color with cream dots — a nice color combo for winter. I like the way this fit on the girls. The sleeves were snug, like more “grownup” layering tees, which just made it all the more cute to me for some reason. I dunno. I guess it was a nice change from all the normal, baggy “baby” clothes. (I’m sure I’ll totally regret that statement someday.)
Gallery Leggings – Okay, I’m just gonna say it… I am sooo not a fan of these. Like, at all. They’re just too loud/60’s lookin’ for me. (And the bottoms remind me of the little plant guys that come up out of the tubes in Super Mario (old school Nintendo version)… Or homemade hand puppets. I think it’s the buttons looking like eyes thing. Am I way off on this? haha) I will say that they are very soft though. They also fit nicely and are well made. Too bad they’re
hideous not my style. 😉
There’s the whole outfit. I looove the top two pieces, but the leggings will be passed along to a more… “groovy” momma.
Getting 16-month olds to pose is damn near impossible. Getting them to pose together? Yeeeah, not gonna happen.
Books are more important than modeling.
Sippy cups too.
This is as “model-y” as they (well, Chloe) got.
Matilda Jane was nice enough to offer my readers a chance at winning a $50 gift card! Woohoo!
To enter, just make nice with the Rafflecopter below. Good luck! 😀
Disclosure: I received these items for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Contest open to US residents only, 18+.
Yeah, the pants are a little to much hippie for me too lol…
Yea not a fan of the bottoms, too busy. But remember now that I have 2 granddaughters ( though not born at the same time like my friend Marcia), I would love to win.
love the style of the pants, if they were a solid color, they would be cute. i would skip the buttons… the top and tee are almost as adorable as the girls!
I think the leggings are an adorable style. I just wasn’t in love with the two paired together
Cute clothes! I have a 14 month old girl!
The review is right on.
I love the way the pants are made but the bottom of the colors are what make you go nah to much ..Thought your comments were good what would we do if it werent for people like you that let us know how they look and feel..Thanks
Darling girls with darling MJ!!! ❤️
I love Matilda Jane!!! I wish I could buy it all but it just isn’t possible with the price tag. I like how everything is resellable but the pieces are hard to part with.
Such an amazing outfit!!
I agree with you on the gallery leggings… Wouldn’t put my daughter in them, but I LOVE the stippling tee and the turtledove knot top! So awesome that you got to try them out!
Not a fan of the patchwork.
I don’t like those leggings either… I prefer the solid cranberry colored ones.
I personally love them!
I agree about the pants, but love the tops. Your girls look adorable!
Thanks for the giveaway. Not a fan of the gallery leggings. To much pattern going on for me
Love! Love! Love! So stinkin cute:)
I like them =)
My daughter loves these!

Love the set. No such thing as to much when it comes to MJC;). I love it all. I’ll even put 2 different color l&l shes on my DD
I love Matilda Jane! I think your review was great and honest. I would assume that everyone doesn’t like all pieces, which is why it’s such a great company to mix and match what you do like to get the combo you love. Your girls are adorable! Happy holidays. Xoxo
🙂 Happy holidays to you too!
Love MJC, but I agree about the leggings. Not a huge fan of those. Maybe with just the stippling tee they would be cute!
I love the 60 funk!
Love Matilda Jane clothing. The two tops were my favorites from this collection. You should really look into the jeans that match this outfit. .
Thanks for the giveaway!
I think they are cute,, but I think they just need to be paired with a less busy top!!love MJC!!!
I happen to be that groovy mommy and personally love them!!
Love MJC! Great blog. Hoping I am chosen!!
You can not go wrong with Matilda Jane Clothing. The quality is awesome.
I don’t care for the leggings but with the outfit as a whole I think they look great. Too harsh? Maybe? But opinions are opinions right?!?!
I love your honestly! I’m in love with Matilda Jane so I would probably dress my girls in a brown paper sack they made. ha! 😉
Love your blog!
Personally I like the leggings. I see 60’s in the entire outfit. But I like the 60’s look. I do not agree with you on the review.
To harsh. The pants are gorgeous! I have been entering every giveaway I can find to win these for my daughter since I can’t afford them. They are so fashionable and fun!
I am totally a fan of those leggings! I believe mtc has something for everyone and makes little girls look and feel adorable:) heck i would even wear these… then again I’m sitting hearing wearing tie die yoga pants!
I like the pants but not with the outfit 🙂 They would be cuter with a simpler top.
I like the leggings!
I love the leggings with the outfit – that little bit of the plum polka dot is perfect. The buttons and cute “ruffle” are my fave. In my early MJ days, the colors and prints combos were a little much. But now I am all over it. These three pieces are great together! Your girls are the cutest and you are a cool blogger! Glad to find you!
thans for the oportunity to win nice dress

These outfits (and your kiddos) are adorable! I have a little niece that would love these outfits!
I would prefer solid leggings. They are fun though and I bet my 2 and 3 year old would love them, their style isn’t always what I would pick 🙂
I love them! If you’re daughters personality fits then why not:)
Too harsh? No, it is your opinion! I like the gallery leggings a lot, but am not a fan of the ruffled leggings by MJ. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

Not a huge fan of the leggings either 😉
I Like The Leggings! They’re Different! 🙂 A Bit “Out There” I Agree!
I love the pants, but can see how they would not be for everyone.
