Monthly Munchy is a new subscription box that sends you a monthly assortment of both homemade and store-bought treats.
Each box will contain 6 to 10 products that can include cookies, chips, snack cakes, popcorn, candies, and more. There will be 3 different sections of the box: Salty & Savory (2-3 salty and/or savory snacks), Signature (a homemade item made by their in-house chefs), and Sweets (2-3 sweet treats).
Subscriptions are $32.95/month with free shipping. (For a limited time you can get your first box for 50% off when you click here, hit the “subscribe now” button”, and then click “get my box” at the top of the page.)
Let’s see what’s in the October 2015 Monthly Munchy Box!
Everything was shipped in a large white box with a blue Monthly Munchy stamp on top.
A peek inside. I was surprised to see such a long hand-written thank you note on top. They clearly care about their business and want their customers to be happy. Oh — I should probably note that this box was sent for FREE as a promotion they had going on a couple weeks ago. (Free shipping too!) Anyone was eligible — not just reviewers. In fact, they didn’t even know I was a reviewer. 🙂
The treats!
The tri-fold info sheet/pamphlet included a list of some — but not all — of the items included. There were also fun October-themed facts and even a couple of kitchen-themed jokes. Cute!
Kettle Heroes Pumpkin Pie Kettle Corn – Heck yes! This popcorn sounds amazing and I was super relieved to see that it’s vegan-friendly (and gluten-free too!). It’s made with all natural ingredients including non-GMO popcorn, cane sugar, pumpkin, and spices. The perfect treat for autumn!
Poore Brothers Kettle Cooked Potato Crisps – I love kettle chips so I was happy to see these guys in the box. Two flavors were included — Salt & Vinegar and Original. These are made in Arizona, which is also where Monthly Munchy is based out of.
Dave’s Apple Muffin – This wasn’t listed on the info card, so I don’t know much about it… I do know that it’s a muffin… and it’s apple flavored… and made by a guy named Dave? 😉 It looks pretty moist and the package says it’s delicious, so… I’ll take its word.
Cajun Apple Cupcake-in-a-Jar – Clearly this is the signature, homemade item for October. The info card describes it as a “delicious apple cupcake in a jar with cinnamon cream cheese icing”. Unfortunately, this probably wasn’t the best item to include in a subscription box. After the long trek from Arizona to New York, the “cupcake” is now basically a pile (jar) of mush. The jar itself is pretty and festive, but… yeah. It might have been a better idea to send a jar with dry ingredients to make your own cupcake? I dunno. :/
Udder Delights Coconut Pecan Macaroons – These macaroons look super tasty and I’m bummed that they’re not vegan-friendly. Though with a name like “Udder Delights”, I really can’t fault them for including milk. 😉
Sugar Bowl Bakery Madeleine – Another sweet treat that wasn’t listed on the info card. A traditional French madeleine made in California.
I had no idea what to expect from Monthly Munchy — especially since they were sending it to so many people for FREE — but I’m happy with what I received. Obviously, they still have to iron some things out re: the homemade items faring well in transport, but overall it was a nice first box. I think with a bit of tweaking, it can be a great box for fans of sweets and other munchies.
Remember — for a limited time you can get your first box for 50% off when you click here, hit the “subscribe now” button”, and then click “get my box” at the top of the page. Happy munching!

I received this box for the first time. I was not impressed with the items except for the cupcake in a jar. You were right that it was a mess but it tased so good it didn’t matter. Might have been the seasoned cream cheese frosting. If I could get just the cupcake in the jar I would continue my subscription.

Nice to know that the cupcake’s state didn’t affect its taste. Did you try the pumpkin spice popcorn? It was really good!
